Really nice building with a proper pub atmosphere. Good selection of cask ales and the food ordered was really nice. Had the H&G Burger and Sticky Toffee Pudding which were both delicious. Staff friendly and so were the locals.

We attended a fantastic food and wine pairing evening at the horse and groom which was incredible value and great fun. Having been on MANY wine and vineyard tours accross Europe, I have never had such an instructive experience. The wine expert, Ian, explained the reasoning in understandable terms for each pairing as well as answering specific questions from those present. We have also eaten here in the evening and the food is plentiful and great value. Having only just moved to the area this is fast becoming a favourite for us amongst stiff local competition.

Just had the best Sunday roast we've ever had in a pub. We both had turkey and everything was excellent. Friendly staff and lovely cosy atmosphere. Brilliant. 🤩🤩

Truly amazing!!! Very helpful staff and were very welcoming of us. Menu was very varied even though it was stripped back due to Covid. Well priced food and drinks plus they stocked Purbeck cider which is a winner for me. The Mrs had lasagne which was fresh and tasty and the boy had kids fresh battered fish and chips, all sublime.
