This was something different! You hope the country pubs you visit will be like this but they so rarely are. Very well priced and well thought out menu in amazing settings with interesting hosts and an experience to match the amazing location. Again couldn't believe the value.

Ex Whitbread Pub which featured in the 1970s series of Collector's Cards. Eating areas are superbly laid out, plus lively bar with vaulted ceiling. 2 real Ales in brilliant condition. Must go back to eat!

Ate here with friends whilst we were staying in the village on a week's holiday. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was superb, the 4 of us enjoyed it immensely. Will definitely return to eat here again

Really delicious food from an appealing menu. Lovely atmosphere. Venison in particular was lush. Service was fantastic. Me and my husband really enjoyed our dinner during this evening during our getaway in Dorset. Dog friendly too so extra points!!

Drove here after a bracing walk to Durdle’s Door for an excellent fish lunch. The halibut was delicious, the building has a warm cozy feel and the waiting staff were attentive and friendly. We had two children with us who were also made to feel welcome.

Me and the Mrs wanted somewhere to have dinner after visiting Durdle Door. Wow. I can’t begin to describe how amazing this place is. The staff are all so polite and friendly, I’m shocked that they don’t even add service charge. For food, we ordered the crab pot and chicken croquettes for starters, chicken with sage and potato pie for mains and a marmalade bread and butter pudding for dessert. The whole lot was incredible, I’d give the food 10 stars if it were possible. You absolutely need to go to this place if you are in the area.

Very foodie pub in super location. Menu still limited but I'm sure it will expand soon. Food was lovely. On the down side the serving staff couldn't answer several questions about the food, which made us and the table next to us giggle. The meals are tasty but won't fill you up so you have to pay extra for any basics like chips or mash. Well worth experiencing, though.

The attention to detail taken on this place is first class! I hughly recommend the Free Range Chicken Supreme and the Tarka larger beer! I sat in the garden which was highly maintamed and presentable worh great views! However didn’t go inside as it was a friday night and fully booked!I cycled up from the Galton Farm campsite not too far but rather hilly!!

Exceptional and original food. Friendly and cosy atmosphere. Well worth a visit. The portion sizes are on the small side though so order some side dishes. Highlights were the octopus and squid and the cod linguini.

Gorgeous food, best service I've had in a while, and biscuits to go with my coffee from a local bakery, all in a cosy atmosphere. What more could you want 😊
