Normally awesome but this occasion the chips were oily brown with a mix of well done and rubbery chips. Contacted them over Facebook to see what, if anything, they would do (voucher or refund) but message read but no reply.

I decided to visit this fish & chip shop as I was staying locally but what a mistake, as firstly I ordered haddock & chips from the lady at the counter who seemed a little put out when I asked if I could wait inside until my food was ready, she was advising people to go back to their cars to wait for some reason plus one lady was sitting on the seating outside & must of been freezing.I sat on one of the stools feeling very uncomfortable with several people coming in & now joining me to wait, I then noticed that the young lady who was boxing up the meals seemed quite abrupt when serving people their food, then when mine was ready she shouted haddock and chips & just left it on the counter half open to get on with somebody else's, very rude when they weren't even that busy.I got back to my car but when I opened the lid my fish was pretty busted up, It would be bad enough if it was due to the contents being too full, but she had no excuse, I started to eat it whilst it was fresh but all I could taste was a very greasy batter, the haddock was tasteless, very thin & the skin rubbery like jelly, it just fell apart by not being cooked correctly, on my 2nd mouthful I had 2 bones in my mouth & there were several more after that, the chips I really couldn't eat as they were rock hard, chewy & mostly bits that just tasted of pure fat, you could tell just looking at the colour of them that they were holding oil, not full blown potato chips that I was expecting for the price paid, I wish now I had of asked for salt & vinegar, although nothing could give this meal the kiss of life & even the seagull that was sitting next to my car didn't seem interested in eating them either, which says it all really!!A complete disappointment.

As my granddaughter has coeliacs disease . Its hard to find somewhere that does gluten free. And this place does it all the time whereas some places only do gluten free once a week . I recommend this place highly . Thankyou for doing a brilliant job xxxx

Great food.. gluten free batter was slightly soggy but overall not to bad at all.

Our fave chip shop. The chips are perfect every time. The fish is always tasty and yum. I'm glad we found this place. There's seating outside with bins provided.

Fish nice and ok size. Chips were such a small portion. Would be about a cone sized amount if that. Meant to be large. Felt very expensive for what you get. Wasn't enough for family. Will not be returning.

Very good, we tried while on holiday in the area. Fish is excellent, same for mushy peas. Be aware large portions 😊

Popular place due to the good fish and chips and decent portions. Ill happily wait for freshly cooked as it makes all the difference to the taste and both fish and chips were crisp and tasty.Gravy was good and thick just as it should be, curry was good mild and was enjoyed by my wife. Good meal sets which many other chippys don't offer.Good common sense covid safety precautions taken in store.Staff are busy and businesslike, what else would you expect when they're constantly busy.

Very popular and busy fish and chip takeaway on the seafront. Staff perhaps could have been more friendly but obviously dealing with so many people takes it toll!…good size portions..easily able to share a large cod and chips between two adults. Seating on the sea wall opposite but beware of the seagulls!

Absolutely amazing fish and chips. This photo is the gluten free fish and chips. The batter is crispy and tasty and chips perfectly cooked. They really understand the requirements for Coeliac disease.Excellent social distancing procedures in place. One customer inside at a time. When you order you get a bleeper to tell you when your order is ready to collect so all customers can stand outside and wait safely. We will be back again.
