Wanted steak and ale pie ,got chicken

Been here lots of times but lately the food hasn't been as good as it usually is. Tonight's mini fish wasn't very warm and the batter was tough. Unable to come back but very disappointed.

Called In for cod and chips and a separate portion chips at 7pm, very disappointed all cold. When phoned to report asked to bring back.sorry you have just lost a customer.

The staff here are so friendly and helpful! The portion sizes are huge and the quality of fish is brilliant, highly recommend!

Really great 👍 food and amazing 👏 value. I recommend the burger and chips meal. Very large portion of chips 🍟 and the burger was a decent thick one. Yummy 😋

Turned up at quarter to closing time on Friday on a long weekend break. Ordered two cod and chips. The staff were friendly and helpful. And because they only had 4 pieces of cod left, they put all four in my order along with what had to be a double portion of chips each, for the regularprice. Their mild curry sauce is nice and spicy (they do a spicy one too, which I chickened out on). Cod was tasty, batter was crisp, chips were chunky. The only complaint would be the lack of seasoning in the peas.

Can't believe we have been going to the area or months and only just found this Gem. The food was freshly cooked and plenty of it the batter mmmmmm so crisp and light . Portions very generous I think I need a smaller portion as despite my best efforts I couldn't eat it all. Yes its busy waiting outside would be bad in the rain but take a brolly it's worth it Just wish it wasn't a 2bhour drive away from us.

The only problem with this lovely chip shop, is that it's not closer to our home. That's my fault entirely, when choosing somewhere to live :-) Onto the review.. The menu is extensive, the food is always cooked to perfection and of very good quality. This, coupled with a lovely team of staff, puts this in my top 5 takeaways. Keep safe everyone and I look forward to visiting again soon..

Great place if you want superb fish and chips. You may have to form an orderly que as it's always cooked fresh, but it's well worth it.
