My family and I absolutely love this cafe! Me it’s the carrot cake and the children love the ice cream. Everyone is so friendly, it’s a must when you come to Burnham !

Amazing food. Friendly staff. Wonderful atmosphere. Went there a lot as a kid, genuinely loved it. There deserts and ice creams were my favourite. Loved to go again haven’t been there for a while.

Would have been five stars but for reaching the front of the queue and ordering our drinks we were informed we'd have to repeat the process because we were unsure of exactly what we wished to eat. But once our food order was taken the service was swift. ( May we suggest the management make the menu more available before customers arrive at the counter). This is no way a reflection on the staff, who we found were very polite and professional. The food was tasty as well as being reasonably priced. Yet Covid-19 precautions were lacking with one member of staff just wiping around the menu (missing great swathes of the table next to us) when clearing the used crockery.(3/4/22)

Ice cream was delicious 😋 toilets not so good poo smeared on the toilet roll holder, i then took my son to the toilet in the disabled and there was tissue on the floor with poo on. Also toilets just need a major update hand dryers blow out the tiniest bit of hot air which couldn't dry an ant.

I went to the counter on 3 different occasions to purchase drinks etc. On each occasion the lady on the counter is taking orders and preparing all the drinks on her own. Staff wonder behind the counter doing nothing. Why can't they help her, So we don't have to wait so long?? Thanks

Reminds me of 60 years ago and the same happy experience. Great ice cream sundaes although a three day recovery from sugar highs. Would not miss it for the world

My earliest memory of Burnham is getting lunch with my parents and my grand aunt and grand uncle in Fortes Cafe and getting some ice cream afterwards! It was so good that it wasn't a trip to Burnham without stopping by Fortes! They serve old style family dishes that sell out fast and are just so good. Warm and hearty and most important of all, tasty! I remember the menu having something for everyone and the staff being so kind and attentive! The ice cream parlour has a wide range of desserts and ice creams with plenty to choose from. There is also tea and coffee available as well as cold drinks. The cafe has big large glass windows which allow in great light and always gave the place a light and airy presence! It is located close to the seafront with outdoor seating also available!
