Friendly at first!£13 a head Sunday roast! Half a carrot half parsnip, 2 very small crispy potatoes (kept in the heater too long) 2 slices of meat, 2 stems of broccoli and a Yorkshire pudding one small dish of cauliflower between 6A child’s meal frozen hard peas chicken goujons (Frozen chicken nuggets) and chips covered in too much salt! There was a strange aroma and taste from the roast dinner food so we asked what this was the waitress did not know but went to find out! To my horror she said one of it was garlic on the potatoes and gravy. I have an allergy to garlic!!When I told them this they completely shut down and was rude saying they do not have time to ask about allergies and it is your responsibility to tell them! I replied I also have an allergy to plasters and I didn’t expect to find either in a roast dinner! did not state anything was seasoned on the menu where the manager said they are new only printed today. The manager came and said do you want anything else while clearing the plates and did we want to speak to the chief! No concerns about my well-being or what affects it would have on me just totally ignored us. I have never had to worry about ordering a Sunday roast before! Finally we got the bill and they removed my dinner cost and we leftThis could have been handled so differently with just a little understanding that allergies can KILL PEOPLE!!I recommendCustomer service,EmpathyUnderstanding AllergiesEveryone left hungry I spent the evening unwell only due to the garlic on my food.

We only stayed for one night but they were very flexible with our early check-out, rooms were clean, beds comfortable, there was a tea station in the room, aswell as tv, food in the restaurant was delicious (we had mushroom tagliatelle with a house salad and apple&berry crumble).

My husband and I used the Fox and Goose for a one night stay to get our Labrador Bowler used to staying in a hotel and it was perfect for us and Bowler. He was welcomed by 'Duke' a lovely Labrador and we were welcomed by Gail - all the staff were so friendly and helpful.Bowler loved the room and restaurant, and the spacious garden for leg lifting! We loved the wonderful clean room, gorgeous bed linen and towels and the food was delicious!Great value for money.Yes it is close to the M5 - but it did not disturb my sleep and that was precisely the reason we chose it - great location near the beach and motorway.Thank you for making our stay so perfect.

Kept waiting to order for an hour to order despite first being told "20 minute wait" and several other tables ordering and being brought food despite being seated after us. Food average. Ordered a burger which was of frozen type. Other meals quite good.

Not too shabby. I had a double bed but could feel where 2 single matresses had been used and the join in the middle was obvious. Other than that it ok.

We arrived here early Friday afternoon just beating Storm Eunice by an hour or so. We had traveled south because our youngest daughter was due to give birth to her first child. We were slightly early for check in but our room was ready and we were booked in in no time. Our room was large and spacious with a lovely comfortable super king sized bed. We also had a table and chairs by the window where we could sit and relax. The room was equipped with everything you would expect, tea and coffee, flat screen tv and hairdryer. Plenty of storage space for our clothing and a spotless bathroom with complimentary toiletries. We were happily relaxing in our room , watching TV when the power went out. After about an hour we decided to go to the bar to find out what was happening, As we suspected Storm Eunice had struck and it looked likely that power would be off for up to 4 hours. The good news was that we could get a drink and charge it to the room. As nightfall came candles were lit and the residents were told that we could have dinner, a choice of either Burger or Fish and Chips. We happily plumped for Fish and Chips and we were soon rewarded with a generous portion of piping hot food. After eating we took a drink back to the room with us before retiring for an early night.Luckily power was restored earlier than expected next day and we were able to choose from a full menu on the Saturday evening as well as an excellent breakfast Sunday morning before dashing off to see our new granddaughter. The hotel is excellently placed to explore the area as it is just off both M5 and the A38. It has a decent menu of traditional pub food, everything we chose was well cooked and tasty. The staff were all really helpful and friendly even in the face of the most difficult of circumstances. Highly recommended we will certainly stay again

Lovely quiet friendly pub, excellent food and great service. The best ham, egg and chips I've ever had! The mango cheesecake for dessert was amazing. We will definitely be returning.

Fabulous food. My husband and I both had the fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy and the chips were the best we have ever had . . . they were golden and crisp (unlike some places where the chips are soggy) I don't know how they cook them but they were amazing!! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good. A proper English pub, unlike these large chain 'pubs' that all look identical and has no atmosphere, ambience and mundane food. Would highly recommend to anyone!
