Just passed through on a long walk but had a excellent flat white coffee. Lots of tasty looking cakes and buns and pasties and such like in the cafe. Friendly service. Many tables in the outside courtyard. Clean toilets. Grounds looked very nice and there are circular walks signposted.

A charming place to visit as a family with young children. We really liked the clear walks and den building areas. The café was average (I imagine it's much nicer in the summer when you can be outside on the terrace).

Great little place. Quiet and peaceful with some great (although quite short, although they did say some of the longest walk was currently diverted due to ash dieback) walks in beautiful countryside.Great cafe (as usual with national trust properties) with a lot of seating. Nice little bookshop and great facilities.Good for dogs, although they have to be kept on leads.Parking is 5 quid for non members. But there is no entrance fee to anything else.

Pretty little place with nice wooded walks, courtyard cafe and proper home made cakes. We loved the orange polenta cake. Interesting history with plausible and intriguing connection with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Quite a nice place for a couple of short walks and coffee. There's a small take-away cafe and the usual second hand book shop. There are toilets on site and plenty of tables and chairs dotted around in the grounds. There are two car parks, one on site and the other just across the road. The main on site one filled very quickly even on a Tuesday morning. There are a couple of ponds that the little ones will love. There's not a huge amount to do apart from the walks but it's a very nice, "maybe a half days outing", you'd be struggling to spend all day there.

Nice little National Trust place. Dog friendly. We did all three of the posted walks, about 2.5 mikes / 55 mins in total. All were easy, one walking through a heard of cows. They all lead back to the centre. Meant we were able to leave some of the senior group. Who took advantage of the book swapping / reading library and coffee shop.

A lovely place for a gentle walk. Three possible trails are clearly marked with one more easily accessed by wheelchairs. Even on the shorter route the views are gorgeous.Weekly 'quiet day' each Wednesday. All routes use gravel at points so standard wheelchairs may struggle - cafe & toilets are in a small courtyard with cobblestones.

Amazing place, nature at its best. Perfect for a hike, slow paced walks or running. A great variety of plants, animals and insects. Car parks are decent, coffee shop is great and toilets nearby. Definitely recommend
