Always a 5 star experience. Dog friendly. But don't let the Mrs to convince you to buy a cake you don't like because she wants a bit. Stick to your guns and choose one of the delicious cakes that YOU want not her. Seriously these cakes are worth destroying a marriage over.

After walking along tha Bridgwater & Taunton canal from Taunton. I decided to stop at Maunsel Lock Tearooms and enjoy a nice latte. It was the perfect day to be sat outside listening to the birds and enjoying the peace. Coffee was great too!

Great location, lovely cup of tea and coffee, however, sadly the bacon butties were tough, chewy and the brown sauce foul. Not sure how you could go that wrong? For £14 not great value for money. We both ended up scattering the bread for the birds and giving our dogs the bacon. I'm sure this can be easily fixed because the place and staff were delightful xxxx

Nice place and great views but there was an hour wait for food and even had to wait half hour just to be given our drinks - a can and a bottle. Heard people asking for refunds as they were having to wait for ice creams, maybe just a new ticket system is needed as it was very sporadic.

Nice canal-side café, clean with outside seating too. Good access for people with mobility issues, including loos. A reasonable selection of light snacks and cakes including GF and the odd Vegan options and a standard range of drinks, including dairy-free choices too; all served by pleasant staff.

Wonderful friendly staff, they take time for their customers. They made myself and my husband a coffee even though they were closing. The brie and broccoli soup is amazing. Well worth a visit.

Great tea room right next to the lock. Good selection of home made cakes, coffees, teas and cold drinks. Food made fresh to order. Reasonable prices and food and drinks were quick to come. A few tables inside and a covered area outside as well as some picnic tables.Top Tip 1. The car park is opposite and is very popular with walkers and users of the canal so at busy times worth getting there earlier. There is a disabled car park right next to the tearooms for about 5 cars, so same appliesTop tip 2.There are only a few tables inside so essential to book especially for afternoon tea.Top tip 3.Support local. Use it or lose it. Put the money back into the area rather than the chain cafes.Top tip 4.Try the planets walk opposite. The sun is a short walk away at lower lock. The planets are spaced out along the towpath and ate relative in size.

Lively little spot. Found a shaded table and watched the world go by. Lovely 'planet' walks either side of the cafe, with small sculptures identifying each planet. Gorgeous ice-cream at the tea rooms, friendly staff. A lovely place to while away an hour.
