Had an awesome valentine's meal.. friendly staff and great food. Great value for money.

Had Sunday lunch. Lovely meal but sadly luke warm and had to ask for it to be warmed up. Served a gluten free lunch but taken back as cauliflower cheese had gluten in it. Luckily none eaten when chef 'remembered'.

I used to love this place but what has happened to it?! Had Christmas dinner here - I can't even describe how disgusting it was, I could still vomit thinking about it! Firstly our starters went to another table and then to us (hello covid!) My partner's starter smelt and looked like cat food! (INEDIBLE) and another person's was cold. We asked for it to be warmed up, 15minutes later it arrived back - it must have got lost! (maybe santa took it!) The main was the worst thing we have all eaten, I wouldn't even give it to the dog, obviously frozen produce and we were all missing the trimmings. We were all holding out for the pudding but no, even that was just a disappointment. The quality did not match the price that you charged. We all appreciate that you work on Christmas day and open your doors to everyone but please close them next time and stay sober whilst in service

Came today(24th Dec 2021) for lunch with a friend. The meals were absolutely lovely. The service was first rate. The young lady who served us was very helpful & very polite, could not fault her. Would highly recommend.

In the interest of brevity, I have abridged my review to include only the main points.Worst customer service experience of my life. Took an hour between courses, starters were brought out, then removed and sent to another table as if Covid didn’t exist. Mains were cold with watery veg. Deserts were a mystery. Staff had no clue what they were bringing out because, and I quote “we can’t sniff ‘em anymore [to work it out]”Staff we’re either clueless, rude or visibly drunk and wobbling like a weeble. Requests for drinks or next courses fell on deaf ears. And the excuse? “Well, you are a large party.”Yes, a large party which was booked over a month in advance. One that you were fully aware of and had made a binding contract to cater for, such is the nature of your business. The crux came when we were wrongfully accused of having not paid our deposits. The meal was a joke, but you can laugh at a joke. Having the entire staff come out in a feeble attempt at intimidation is no joke. Had we had any sense, we’d have walked at that point, and left the money-grabbers to count their buttons. To sum up, the Puriton Inn is badly managed and offers food you wouldn’t feed to a rabid dog, all led by visibly drunk or entitled staff and management. I would rather wander aimlessly through 1940’s Auschwitz in a kippah than set foot in this place again.

What has happened to this place? We just had Christmas dinner here today. To start off some of our guests didn't receive any welcome drinks and the welcoming itself was very disjointed , when we were seated in what I can only describe as the toilet alley a table slapped in a very awkward position. Once we we in our feeding pen we then waited an hour for our starter. Once it arrived the soup was cold. We told the waitress who then got it reheated to a luke warm state we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and all was looking forward to our main. It come out and I felt sorry for the meat it needed armbands as it was struggling to stay afloat with the oily gravy train . No veg but enough pigs in blankets to keep bridgy fed for the rest of 2022. Some of us missing stuffing. No effort was made to make this special today and we paid alot of money we feel let down and robbed. Stick to pouring the pints 👍 I understand it's not easy but don't offer this service in the future.

Pleasant and efficient service. Reasonably priced menu and range of choice. My wife and I both had the rib-eye, mine was pretty good but some gristle in the other, hence dropped a star😏.

Stopped here due to horrific traffic on the way back from Cornwall rather than a service station and so glad we did. Did was amazing and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Much better food than I would've expected and in particular the steak, which was absolutely beautiful and perfectly cooked. The clue was when I read they get their meat from a local butcher. Highly recommend if anyone is stuck on the motorway looking for a place to stop 👍

Great location just off M5 - we use it for motorhome stopover. Friendly and helpful staff. Food is to the higher end of reasonably priced and is well cooked. Chips are especially good. My dessert, creme brulee, was slightly disappointing as slightly split/curdled.
