So good we have booked to go there againfor 4 nights next week. Highly recommended, especially if you have dogs with you.

Great staff. Lovely and cheap food. Nice stay. Dog friendly. Will love to be back for sure :)

We used the Ancient Mariner as the starting point of walking the Coleridge Way and we found the staff very accommodating and allowed us to park our car there for the week whilst we did our walk. The evening meal was excellent and the standard Fayre for breakfast was adequate for the day ahead. The only downside for us was the room. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room basic but there was plenty of hot water. The famous Poet, Samuel Coleridge produced some of his finest works in the Village and his house, which is now owned by the National Trust, is directly opposite the pub and is well worth a visit.

We booked the ancient mariner last minute a few weeks ago and it was lovely, couldn't have asked for anything more. Received a warm welcome from Kerry and all the staff were lovely, the food was delicious, room was warm and cozy. Would definitely stay again :)

Well worth a visit, we booked the table and given this to be the only place in the Village doing food you might want to do the same. The food and the service is brilliant and first class. Lovely friendly atmosphere and good beer, what else is needed?

I recently stayed overnight at The Ancient Mariner and what a night it was! The entertainment was fab and both Kerry and Julian were amazing hosts. The food was 5 stars and excellent quality and the overnight accomodation was clean and modern. Will definitely be coming again soon 😊

We had Sunday lunch here today. Good options on the menu in addition to traditional Sunday lunch. There is a children's menu (chicken goujons etc) or they can do smaller portions of Sunday lunch. Venison steak was excellent. Easy parking on site. Kids enjoyed the pool table. Overall great value and all staff were really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

The management are very rude to their staff. The kitchen at the time was run by a teenager, who somehow influenced my pay dock as she was the head chef "teaching me" how to run the kitchen. As soon as I had my pay docked I would be the only one in the kitchen doing all of the work for a fraction of what I should have been on. The kitchen was disgusting when I first arrived, it looked as if it had never been cleaned. They didn't have a first aid kit, they didn't have an eyewash. All of the oven cloths were full of clothes resulting in the other "chef" scolding all up her arm. That "chef" also believed in the 5 second rule.

Claire & I stayed an extra night at the Ancient Mariner because it was so comfortable. The rooms are large with very nice beds and clean sheets. The TV worked wonderfully. Its really quiet and you are guaranteed a restful sleep.Bathrooms are spacious and the shower was large enough for both of us to save water:) Lots of hot water. The pub is really nice with friendly professional staff. Open fire made it very cosy.Breakfast was very welcoming before we left, it was tasty, the chef cooked us a vegan full English breakfast, with extra toast. If you want a off the beaten track staycation, The Ancient Mariner in Nether Stowey is the place.Would certainly like to return
