Staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast good. Roast on a Sunday was great. Comfy bed. Will come back if ever in the area again

Beautiful place to stay with lovely outside eating / drinking area in the square. Food was ok did not match the photos on the website but good all the same. Room was lovely, clean and a really good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a lovely Easter weekend.

Very quirky hotel, beautiful old fire place, spacious rooms. Lovely helpful staff, good food with seating inside and outside.Free car park 2 mins walk with 1 hour parking outside hotel.Good location for visiting Wooky Hole Caves, Wells, Cheddar and Clarks Shopping centre.Would definately stay again.

The room bed was comfy, the room was lovely breakfast was amazing and evening meal also very Accommodating for people with food intolerances. Staff are friendly and wonderful as is the shops and Square in the town.

Quaint townhouse, room no.2 had lovely view of the square. Well appointed rooms with fridge, coffee machine and luxury toiletries. Staff were excellent during dinner service, offering us marshmallows to toast on the cosy open fire. Breakfast was also delicious. Absolutely recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Oakhouse – the staff were delightful, food was amazing, the room was beautiful and location was perfect. We'll definitely be back!

Pizza was nice, prepared on site and very generous, unfortunately other meals were not so good, the chips, ham and pate were bought in food from catering suppliers and not of very high quality. Friendly and quick service though!

Really nice atmosphere, good local ales and delicious food at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend a visit.

We came for dinner last minute and the manager fitted us in last minute. Her customer service was so good we booked back in for the next night. The food is great with big portions!

Booked for a meal 3 weeks in advance. Was greeted by a sign outside saying the place is shut due to a reception being held. We were then greeted by someone going for a smoke break telling us to go on in. We were seated in the bar area which we thought was strange. The bench seats were covered in dog hair and the place stunk of a jack russels nose. We left before we got food as we didn't fancy the smell or a mouth full of hair while eating.
