Very happy with our staying. Homely room, good food (and portions), friendly and helpful management, good value all round. All in all a great experience. I would definitely recommend.

Village based pub, with very friendly hosts. Room was clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Ideal base for seeing Somerset. Great value for money and would stay there again. Thank you.

We only stayed one night on our way from West Yorkshire to Cornwall but it we would have loved to stayed longer. The well priced evening meal was great with onion rings and garlic bread starters to die for and breakfast was just something else, and all you needed until your evening meal.We had to be careful with the locally produced (just down the road) cider as it goes down too easily and can creep up on you if you don't watch it.We chatted to our down to earth and friendly hosts for hours, they even arranged to charge our electric vehicle overnight for the next leg of our journey.Next time we do the trip to Cornwall we'll definitely have to book again. Before we left for Cornwall we visited Cheddar Gorge, just down the road.

Great, wonderful, landlady and landlord, so friendly and helpful. B&B lodgings were immaculate and clean, tea and sundries supplied foc. WiFi is supplied, just ask for password. Great food, cooked by landlord. Lovely dining room, outside tables, dogs and children welcome. Breakfast is supplied to order, with as much tea and coffee as you want, fruit juice and cereal can b eaten as well, but cooked breakfast is ample. Also pool table

Its a lovely little place with a really friendly, chatty and knowledgeable barkeep... but I have to take issue with the pie I was served, which was in truth a casserole in a puff pastry case... which disintegrated into a slimy puddle very quickly. Maybe it was an off day, but i was looking forward to a really nice pie on the day. I found some amazing pies in the butchers just a few doors down though.

Loved our visit. The owners son Ollie, was a real character. His manner came across quite abrupt initially but then you realise he really is a nice guy with plenty of entertaining stories. Food was how pub should be done and the pub is very clean and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Went to Penscot for lunch today. Have been here several times over the years, however, it has been 2 years since I last visited.Im sorry to say it was a real disappointment. The place was empty. No atmosphere. No music playing in background. The choices of ales, lager ( none of the usual you might expect to see) and especially Cider is Utter, Utter Rubbish. They use to serve proper Traditional Thatchers, thats now gone and left with Dishwater - Thatchers Gold and some Bottle Stuff :(The food menu has changed a bit. The menu itself is on A3 card, the selection of Food is so so and a bit overpriced.Sad to say this would not be somewhere that I would recommend. Would be better off going down the road to Churchill and go in The Churchill or The Stag & Hounds.

Very relaxing stay. Great value for money. It's in a quiet location in the center of Somerset close to Glastonbury, Wells and most places of interest. The bed was very comfortable and the staff are excellent. It's a family run inn, and is very welcoming. We are definitely going back!!
