We were walking part of the Cotswold Way and stayed here for one night. The couple running the pub were new and getting established. Our welcome was very warm and welcoming. At the time we went they did not have a chef (they were expecting food to be up and running the following week) and so they ran us to another pub 3 miles away for our evening meal and returned to pick us up later as they did with another guest.Breakfast, whilst limited had plenty on offer, and set us up for the day ahead. Our room was comfortable, quiet and had plenty of hot water.Could not fault the hospitality and would stay there again.

Was greeted with a form to sign stating I would not be abusive and any complaints had to go direct to them. Usually its just car rego etc. Was given room key to a room with window in ceiling that was allowing a gale to blow in, kitchen is closed so none of the advertising on the web site is upto date. Was once a famous well loved pub and b and b. Not any more. The room was very tired. The mattress on my bed had springs that I could feel. These springs collapsed when sat on and I could feel the wooden slats. A mattress topper would have been nice. Or a mattress cover. Or a new bed, I had to put a towel against the bed head to stop it banging the wall. I was on my own.The bathroom grout had mould in. Hot water took ages to trickle into the bath. There were limited toiletries apart from two small soaps. Not all rooms have TVs. Was told the managers have asked but it takes a while to get them from head office. The whole place is tired and needs a complete reno.Breakfast was continental. Cheap frozen bread toasted, margarine in pot. Coffee machine needed a clean as was very bitter. Or may be better beans would help. Croissants the cheapest supermarket ones.Staff more interested in their phones than guestsWas told the room would be checked before we left in case we had broken chairs ??? And it was.Never had this in 60 years of travelling. The web site needs to be updated. Seems new managers have taken over in March. Last review I could find was March.

I spoke to the receptionist today, I am at work needed accommodation after long they on the road. I asked for the room he said is not available then I said it is on booking website then he said yes you can book it but you will have to wait few hours for your room . What kind of customer service is that? What a rude man. If you have no rooms why advertise them as available???? If you think of that kind of customer service good luck with your business. I wish you to receive same what you give, this is ridiculous 🤯

This is sad to post but needs to be spread. The Fox Inn, high street, Hawkesbury Upton, near Badminton horse trials..Think carefully before using them. Why, well I booked several rooms from 2nd to the 5th of May 2022 for the grass roots championships. We are competing luckily, I booked on 19th August 2021, so plenty of time. Now February 2022, I get a phone call saying its under new ownership and they want to put up the cost by over 600%!!!Why? Because they can sell the rooms for more to others.....I refuse to accept this behaviour. They were happy to accept my booking via booking.com. the booking agent called them and then tells me the inn now say their rates were incorrectly loaded on the system, again not my problem but a blatant lie. Yes a lie because I went on their own website and booked a room direct for the same rate as booking.com.So this business is full of it. Disgraceful behaviour, I am making you all aware plus all my friends in the surrounding villages to Badminton. Now will they care about my rant and disappointment? Probably not.

Friendly and comfortable. Good beer and a nice looking menu (albeit only at weekends). Will return

We are walking the Cotswold way and lucky for me my husband booked the Fox inn for B&B. It was by far my favourite location for the night, our evening meal was fantastic, we had room 1 which was large with 2 windows, we had a shower and a bath which was much appreciated after a full day walking. Fay the owner could not have been more accommodating, the breakfast was amazing and all the staff we met were incredibly helpful, I highly recommend staying here, great value for money and after a great nights sleep we were more than ready to start the day, thank you Fay x
