Hawkes House in South Gloucestershire

Good food, lovely coffee, but how I wish they didn't let dogs into the cafe! Just as my food arrived, an ill-attentive dog owner came in and allowed her greyhound to walk over and SNIFF MY PLATE!! Whilst not directly the café's fault, it really put me off my food.Also they forgot the glass of water I ordered, which is one of my pet peeves. Just because something is free of charge, it doesn't mean it's any less important.

Coffee was good but over priced £4 for this small coffee. Took about 15 mins to get my drinks order and didn’t even ask if I wanted food. Sat for another 30 mins with my coffee and watched the tables around me get served, not one person bothered to check if I wanted to order.Not sure if they’re use to seeing people come in and want food alone or what but they just left me in the corner. This is the second time I have come here to try and eat and second time I have been ignored and left in a corner.

I’ve been to a few quizzes in my time, the food and drinks were great. Joel was a great quizmaster too and looked after us well! We will be back again soon

Sunday 3rd April. Beautiful food. Food took years and was cancelled multiple times (couldn't have first choice then took ten 20mins to even tell us that we couldn't have the second choice) . Manager/owner was very apologetic gave us free drinks as well as a few free meals that were most disturbed.If your willing to wait upwards of a hour for a stunning burger that might not arrive, its the place to go.

Great food and service. Dan is really sweet. He always remembers the name of my dog and asks about him if he’s not here. We love this place and always come here for family meals. Highly recommended. 😊

We were visiting Thornbury today and came across your establishment where we had the most lovely breakfast this morning. The service we recieved was excellent. The host lady was extremely friendly and welcoming She had her hands full with a film set and lots of guests but still made time to talk to us and she and her staff did a wonderful job. Lovely outing.

My son says “they do the best pancakes in the universe 👍👍👍👍👍👍”. For me there is a good selection of Gluten free food. Bring back proper nachos with cheese, jalapeño, sour cream and guacamole 🥑 :-)

I am new to working in Thornbury and as it is a fair way for me to travel, I intend to make a bit more of a day of it. Treat myself to a different place every time I goI went in on a Saturday lunchtime and it was busy - you could see them working in the kitchen non stopHad a great snack of bread breakfast and a cup of tea - it was busy and I was warned of the wait but it was worth the wait and I did not leave disappointed - so worth the wait and it the spot before catching the bus back homeThere is plenty of space

Super pub which punches above its weight in the food department. We ate from the Christmas menu and the food was super delicious. The menu was different and while producing the expected typical fare for this time of year, did it in such a way that was so different, tasty and exciting. All 10 of us were very happy with the service, the staff were very attentive and it all went very well. I would recommend and will look forward to my next meal here. 👍🔥❤️

This was a chance visit but Hawkes House is a lovely lunch destination, with plenty of space, lots of variety on the menu, delicious food and pleasant staff.It's just outside the shopping precinct in the town so easy to get to. It would have been 5 stars but our table obviously needed a clean and was sticky to touch. As my wife pointed out to me repeatedly ..... Other than that, great lunch!
