"It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. To get the most up-to-date notices on our re-opening, keep an eye on our Facebook page."

Great local, Pete and his staff do a brilliant job, well done mate

The pub is much better than The Kingswood Colliers, or as some locals like to call it "the spoons". However, due to some previous complaints, the fry up was no longer being made. But they did have a smaller version which is shown in the photo.

Great little pub with plenty of indoor seating. They have a few games machines and a dart board. Bar service was quick with a wide selection of drinks and snacks to choose from. Never ordered any food from the menu so can't comment on that. Parking can be difficult as shared with shops nearby.

Nice local pub with nice food and very reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere

My first visit at the plough. Warm and cosy as you walk in. The pub obviously has a loyal customer base (customers seem to know each other and the names of the staff). Big menu with lots of options. I ordered one of the beef burgers which came with bacon and bbq sauce. The beef itself was juicy, I don't think the bbq sauce works with the burger but that's just my personal opinion (and I don't really like bbq sauce anyway). The chips were good- chunky and crispy. For dessert I ordered an apple & pear crumble which was smashing! Probably one of the best pub desserts I've ever had. The plough is inexpensive, staff are brilliant, food is delicious. Definitely will return and I recommend this pub to anyone who is thinking of dropping by. :-)

Yesterday I went to the Old Plough with some friends, off of the back of a recommendation. It was mothers day, so it was fairly busy. Our table we had reserved was not reserved, but this was quickly rectifiedWe all ordered a roast dinner (which I think was the only option). When they arrived, all of our potatoes were burnt. I was not happy with mine as they were small, and one was charcoal black. I said the waitress that the potato was black and asked if I could have alternative roast potatoes, and she told me to cut them open and they would be okay inside.I wasn't happy with this so I took my meal to the kitchen, knocked on the door and the Manager came to the door to talk to me. I showed him the potatoes and politely said that I couldn't eat them and asked for some alternatives. I was told that all of the potatoes were like that and when I asked for a refund I was told I couldn't have one. That wasn't good enough, in my opinion. I was then told that if I wanted a refund I could have a refund for the potatoes only. I left the kitchen, as I was getting no where. I went to the bar and asked for a refund, and was told that as I'd paid on card they would have to wait for a manger to authorise the refund, and asked to sit in my seat whilst they waited for him. Meanwhile, I was brought a dish of tiny, over boiled, shrivelled up new potatoes and after I declined these, I headed to the bar again to see about getting my refund. Again I was asked to wait in my seat, so I went back and found the potatoes in the picture sitting by my meal. More burnt potatoes, that you wouldn't even feed a dog. I was then left in the predicament of watching my friends eat their meal whilst I sat not eating as, being as petty as he was, I thought that if I ate the rest of the meal (which by this point would have not been as hot as it was at first), this would give him a reason to only refund me for the potatoes.I was then brought £1 by the waitress as my refund for the potatoes, and I said this was unacceptable. Eventually, I got my refund by cash as the manager was too busy to authorise the card payment.I can appreciate it was a busy mothering Sunday, but to be so rude and childish about giving a refund is really unacceptable when a meal you're paying for is inedible. To be honest, it completely ruined my Mother's day meal. If he had apologised and accepted that I wanted a refund, or even offered a free dessert instead, this would have sufficed. However, the way he handled it made me feel that I was in the wrong and I left the pub hungry, irritated and unhappy. I will not be returning.

Discover this pub properly after going into a harvesters seeing the had shot up their prices and walked straight out. Half the price and better food I dont think I been back to harvesters since.Have now been in the Old Plough for food maybe 2 dozen times in the past 18 months and every time the food had been quick, hot and very generous size and cheep price. Decided today to go for the large all day brunch for a little over £5. For that I got 4 sausages, 4 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, a LARGE flat mushroom, fried bread, a good amount of chips and beans. My sister was happy just with a soup today at £2.Every stake I have had has been lovely and the sirloin :) and they do a full mixed grill for £7.35 and includes a lot of meat!!!. There lunch club during the week is also great where you get a started and small mains or small mains and pud for around £5. Stuffed for a fiver means its not worth cooking. The staff are always lovely (bar 1 person a few months back who I haven't seen since and wasn't unpleasant just looked a little down)I would and do recommend. Keep it up!

45min wait for food and only 2 other people eating in pub. Manager very aggresdive when approached about it. Was told that could have money back as meal swimming in grease and burnt steaks. My 7 yr old grandson was given a steak knife to eat a children's meal. Was told by manager could have money back and to leave asap and don't come back. Disgusting customer service. Very very disappointing pub used to be so nice pity changed management
