Not a bad place. Beautiful grounds. Staff very friendly. The rooms are okay, very standard, not 4* at all. The bathroom toilet was stained with black, the flush makes a very loud noise. There are no plugs near the bed so it makes it hard to charge phones etc. No air conditioning in the rooms so only use of fans which are provided. The beds are comfy and with nice soft pillows too. The spa was nice. Nothing much around so it’s just a place to come to if you don’t want to travel much.On a Saturday night they had a bbq, which was the first time they had done this. It was a beautiful evening so the ambience was good. However we felt the food was not great, the meat needed to be cooked a little more and there needed to be more variety of sides.

We stayed here for a long weekend to take in the Badminton horse trials. Absolutely cracking place. The room was perfect. We had our little dog with us and the room couldn't have been better. With patio doors leading to a small paved area with chairs and a table and a small green with mature trees for our dog to run around. We ate each evening and breakfast in the atrium and thought the food and service was excellent. Most afternoons we sat on the terrace by the outside bar. The grounds are absolutely stunning.

Amazing place. Staff very friendly and professional. The surroundings stunning and well maintained.Would definitely recommend for relaxing stay.Did not stay long enough to enjoy the spa facilities. The Orangery is a fantastic venue for weddings.

I choose the hotel to celebrate my birthday with my hub and friends. We had a great experience. The rooms: I would say, you will get what you paid for.My room was INCREDIBLE, just love it.Food: The breakfast was fresh and with lots of options. The only thing was at the bar in the evening, the service wasn’t good. In general we really like our stay.Ps: I would like to thanks Susan for her incredible service. She is a star!

We stayed over Easter weekend, there were some pros and cons, we probably wouldn't be back in a hurry but had a nice time :) The room was quite personality-less but for the price, it's what you'd expect.PROS:- Dog friendly, the room had a dog bed and food bowls waiting!- Beautiful building & grounds- Spacious bedrooms- Very hot water and a strong shower- Bedding and towels were nice- Staff were friendly (except for one man behind reception when my partner asked for more tea bags but was expecting a lot worse after reading the reviews!)CONS:- A siren goes off in the room if you are not checked out by 11 am on the dot- Bathrooms are very dated and quite a bit of mould- Room was quite hot, even with heating off and windows open as much as they could.- No fridge in the rooms- Food is below average and VERY expensive. If we went back we would not include the ÂŁ30 ahead food allowance and go out to eat in the evenings- Breakfast was good, but with dogs, you have to take the food to the Atrium to eat, by the time you've got there and sat down it's quite cold

We came here for our honeymoon and I have to say the staff have been flawless. They have treated us so well and made the start or our marriage as good as we could have hoped for.As for the hotel itself again, flawless I cannot rate the De Vere Tortworth high enough. Well worth a visit, as not only is the hotel stunning but the rooms and landscapes are equally beautiful.Thank you to all the staff for making the start of our honeymoon exceptional from the guys at reception to the ladies in the restaurant you have all been brilliant.Thank youMr & Mrs Matthews

Clean and well maintained. Understandably here and there you get a worn out look but that is part of the deal and attraction of the hotel as it is a blend of history and modernity. The room was comfy and well equipped with a TV, ironing board with iron, kettle and tea/coffee facility. Toilet was clean with a bathtub. No tooth paste or disposable tooth brush but plenty of towels.Good Breakfast (English/ continental) in 1853 Restaurant. We had dinner in the Orangery. The desserts and food was excellent. Free coffee facility round the clock near the Atrium. It is handy to use a site map to move about and see where you want to go because the corridors feel like a maze in the beginning. You could also use site map to locate a car park suitable to your room. There are electric vehicle 3kwh charging points (Free) in Pine car park.

Amazing service. Big family wedding. Staff were quick to sort out issues and help us through the day. Big shout out to the reception team that we’re able to receive a DPD delivery and ring me personally when it was delivered. Another big shout out to Tom (one of the servers in the atrium bar) very talkative and an all round star (deserves a raise). Rooms were clean and tidy. Grounds were amazing along with the actual building. Thanks again. Would give 6 stars if I could.

I absolutely loved this venue!! The stay over the New Year period was utterly fantastic. Not a single complaint or disappointment with any aspect of my stay. The main house is beautiful and it is an absolute joy to take breakfast in the morning within such a gorgeous room with stunning views out across the lawns. I would recommend enjoying the refurbished rooms in the main house the most. Whoever was appointed to design the refit did a wonderful job in bringing a modern touch but retaining the charm and character of the original historic building. The staff above all else were amazing. Probably the most welcoming and genuinely warm and friendly group of staff I have ever encountered in hospitality. The young man who worked the Atrium bar, the cocktail barman in the library, and the two extremely helpful and welcoming gentlemen on reception. Even the chambermaids where hugely friendly and happy. An utter joy!!! 5*
