Very small double bed! Clean and tidy. Pleasant atmosphere.

We went as a group from Birmingham for a surprise 60th birthday weekend. Great service from start to finish. I had a single occupancy room. Really good size not much difference to the double occupancy just that the bathroom I had just a shower not a bath, but no problem. Bar food was good for lunch. We had a party planned on the Friday evening. The room. Was really good, service was excellent. Buffet breakfast was nice, no complaints. Didn't eat in the restaurant on the Saturday evening as we had a booked a meal out. All in all a very good experience and would/will stay there again. Thank you to all staff. We were there the weekend of the bad storm in February so apart from the meal out on the Saturday evening, we stayed in the hotel as the weather was really bad.

The first room I was saying had broken bed and had two windows with no proper seal. The room was cold and had a draft. I have requested for different room. Next room had only one window with the same issue but draft wasn't this bad. Daily service turn off the radiator so the room is always cold.At the morning breakfast I have heard numerous times people are wished to have a good time and enjoy when all I heard was "you've been here before? Help yourself".Made a coffee from in the room. Took boiling water from a kettle provided in the room. Ended up having a spider inside my cup. Very likely they are not cleaned.

Afternoon tea was perfect. Lovely scones, sandwiches and cakes Really friendly staff too 😊

Well it started with being served cold meal (no excuse for serving cold food).the room had not been cleaned properly, ripped duvet cover, scalding hot shower pointed this problem to staff nothing done about it, if no house keeping being done daily why do we still have to pay for this service. Breakfast, well milk on the turn, cold coffee, wobbly tables which meant beverages being spilt everywhere.Very disappointing will NOT be staying there again!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent staff and service. Staff really helpful. Room very clean. Really lovely stay. Its a shame the restaurant wasn't open but it's so quiet I understand why. The cleaning staff start really early and our room was next to the cleaning cupboard so a bit noisy. Heard one cleaner shouting to the other 'the irons at the back of the cupboard' this was at 7.20 am on a Sunday morning. Just wanted a lie in.

A right mad time was had by all at the works Xmas do. They didn't give us the complementary 1st drink....☹ staff rushed off their feet. Food wasn't bad. They should have had more staff on the night to eliminate the breakages and stress on young staff.

Just arrived , staff are lovely and help full, 1st time here, and it seems all good, waiting to see how the food is.... Will post more later....updated post.. Just checked out and found out that I was charged£17.00 for a pack lunch.. absolutely disgusting price for the quantity. I expected around £7. But £17.00 is rip off. Hence 1 star. Perhaps i should have asked or perhaps they should have said!!!

Been here for 3 weeks on a course. The hotel may be a bit dated but very clean and tidy. Staff were excellent and so accommodating. Food was amazing and great price.

Booked in here from the 21st November through to the 26th. Booked out on the morning of the 22nd !The room was dated, covered in dust on the top shelf where the spare duvet / blanket is stored and only two pillows provided on a queen size bed.The bed itself was horrendous. It was like laying in a ditch on either mattress. I had to literally pull myself out to get up.As a result of not sleeping, (and getting up with a back ache), other than for 2 hours according to my smartwatch, due to the mattress I listened to the rats scrambling through the ceiling. Absolutely No Joke.I booked out the following morning and explained why, and the reaction from the member of staff, and the maintenance man stood behind her was, as if they already knew.Now for the good points - food was great (chilli burger) and staff were fabulous.No offer of apology from management for the awful accommodation or the rats, and no offer of a price reduction or refund. I still paid the full price.I will definitely not be staying here again. Thank goodness for other national hotel chains where you KNOW what you're going to get, regardless of where you stay. 🙏
