Great place, cozy, clean rooms, very tasty meals, unfortunately small. Peaceful beautiful place.

Excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere

Went here for a birthday meal. Very nice Sunday Roast!

·

Cracking village pub. Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Great food and good selection of ales.

In a village redolent with history, this establishment shares much of it.The Catherine Wheel circa 17th century and probably the interior hasn't much changed over many decades.A small lunch window 12.00 - 14.00 during the week - 12.00 - 15.00 Saturday and Sunday. Short hours they may be, but the food quality does engender some rave reviews. The beer cellar is quite credible also - the Butcombe Rare Breed 3.8%abv was in noble condition.

Sunday lunch absolutely fantastic! Will definitely be back for sure very enjoyable 👍

·

Great staff, good food served quickly and friendly locals.

·

A dog friendly pub with friendly staff. The little yard at the side is enclosed so its perfect to let your dog wander about without worrying about them.

This is my 3rd visit in the last 3 months the service was slow for the second time, there was a delay whilst we sat waiting for someone to take a drinks order, it was almost 20 mins to just get a drink. I had to ask them to get a drink order sorted then a delay, just to make the food order it was almost another 40 mins before the food order was taken. Suggestion show to table get a drinks order, Deliver drinks, get the food order. and then get the meal to the table in 30 mins Max. The venue was really nice and my guest commented on this. I chased the owner to take a food order, the response I will be back in a sec almost 10 mins past. the food we ordered was the salmon with prawn stir fry. It was lovely and my guest enjoyed it. I will be back but to see if the attention to detail, IE service has improved. After all, buying drinks only will not be sustainable, for your business its the food buyers, that will boost your revenue stream having spent £30 plus and poor service is not acceptable.

Had a really nice Sunday lunch here with friends and all meals enjoyed. Lovely pint of Stroud brewery ale. Pretty village location with good walking. Friendly staff, we will return to this super find.
