Food and bar service excellent, only dropped a star because I tried to book a table for 10 but was told i need to order and pay in advance.... I didn't book and turned up with 10 anyway, was able to push a couple of tables together and make it work. Bar and restaurant staff didn't stutter and service was on point. Happily and certainly will come here again (have done multiple times)

Beautiful hotel/restaurant/pub, decent prices for excellent food,Different areas of the pub have different feels with the small sofa nook to the lounge area and up in to the large open room toward the top of the pub.Food and service were excellent and our food came fairly quickly and was delicious. The staff were polite and friendly and special mention to the lovely lady Jo who was friendly and funny and lovely to chat to. This is our new favorite pub.

So, I rated the wrong hotel, but in my defence I stayed at allot of them. The cross hands is an exceptional and attractive building, full of features missed on sterile and commercial stays. Having a long and affluent history, (the Queen has stayed there) it offers the possibility of seeing a Spector or two, but I myself never had the pleasure and slept like a baby all night I'm my ample and comfortable bed. The pub/restaurant area is stunning, and offers pictures of the building throughout history, which I do love in an old venue. The beer is lovely, a well maintained bar 100%. We intended heading into town, but stayed there the whole night as it was lovely. We were there during some random car festival or meet, this was incredible as some of these old old cars were breathtaking almost on par with the venue itself. I would recommend this hotel and very much enjoyed my stay. Point to note, it definitely does not have an orangery, (inside joke) much love people.

The service at the bar, attentiveness of the staff is non existent. The food is terrible and a complete waste of money. The burger was raw inside, the fish slimy, thrown on the plate. Cannot recommend other that a convenient location to meet, easy to find and large car park.

A lovely place to eat. The food was fresh, hot and well prepared. The prices are very competitive. I could have used a few more mushrooms as the starter, but I eat a lot and am not complaining for price. Main course more than made up for it, superb chicken and gammon in the Hunter's Chicken. Plenty of parking, good restaurant space and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Relaxed atmosphere, visited on a quiet day. We ordered vegan fish & chips, the batter seemed undercooked and the “fish” really watery and salty. Servers polite and friendly, good quality for the price overall.

Very nice pub /hotel. Extensive menu with a lot of choice at reasonable prices. Food was very nice and plenty of it. Very polite, professional staff with very good communication and customer skills. Plenty of room in the car park which is free. Well worth a try for a meet up with friends e family.

We booked a superior room on Friday night, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room however was a little tired looking. The Evening meal was nice, the veg however was overdone!Breakfast was a different story! Very unfriendly staff, no service at all!! No hot water to make your own tea, plus a jug of cold coffee! When I asked why the toaster wasn't working was told to read the notice on the wall!! The unfriendly lady then continued to have a heated discussion/argument, with another lady about shifts!! Very unprofessional. So we ate breakfast with bread and butter and no hot drink. Very disappointing as we live not far away and were hoping to come more often!A smile and good morning may have also been nice.

Only stayed here twice, staff are very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are a bit too warm for my liking but this is just my preference. Food here is amazing I had the chicken in a basket and it was delicious, my friend has had the riddles ale pie both times we have stayed here and would definitely recommend that. Overall a pleasant stay.Thankyou

We enjoyed a couple of nights at this hotel and were very pleased. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and looked newly decorated. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was very nice with plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble.
