A well run restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff plenty of parking space and a large garden with seating and shelter the food was great and served promptly

I left disappointed after expecting an up market meal based on the menu and its descriptions. What we were served was frankly for the money, a bit of a joke. The lasagne I chose was ok. Certainly not worth the price tag though. The Vegan Burger, my better half was served was little more than a childs meal. No coleslaw as described in the vegan menu, and she was served skinny fries, when the menu stated chunky chips. The staff member who delivered the meal said the coleslaw wasn't vegan despite having ordered from vegan menu?? Why would you put anything non vegan, onto a vegan menu!! 🤦The waitress happily went off to get chunky chips as per the menu. Either way she was served no side salad as a replacement. The waitress happily went off to get chunky chips as per the menu, when we left, we realised we has been charged for the chunky chips that we should have had in the first place!!Wouldn't recommend. Won't return for the food. See photo for her £15 burger!

Was served a drink quickly but was never seen to order our food. Even when I went to the bar and said I was ready to order, a tall red headed lady said she would be right over…. We waited a further 20 minutes. Good for drinks bad service for ordering anything after.

The Folly used to be amazing- what happened?? The meat used to be absolutely gorgeous, served by the chef who was generous with his portions - huge slices of succulent beef, juicy and delicious. You could select your veg - including cauliflower cheese - and smother it in rich gravy. Now that self serve has gone, the carvery is shockingly bad!! I received a plate of veg (minus the cauliflower cheese as it’s now over £4 a portion!) with one and a half tiny slices of beef. Surprised at the lack of meat for £14, I mentioned it to the waitress who brought a plate with a few more slices. Good? NO!! It was so dry and tough we could barely eat it - most ended up in a napkin totally impossible to chew. What a disappointment! We’ve been going to the Folly for years and had no idea how much it has deteriorated (although the kale and red cabbage are still lovely). Bring back the original, delicious carvery, with mouth-wateringly good meat and in generous portions; the one we had today was barely worth leaving the house for - and certainly not worth £14 a head. What a shame.

Nice pub. Decent car park size. Was able to book a large table at the last minute without any bother. Portion sizes were good and prices were reasonable. Only slight gripe was a bit of a wait for food. But as it was a large group amd all the food came out around the same time can't complain to much.

We had trouble initially getting a server bit when we did things were fine. The food was lovely and the menu had a good selection. It was pretty quiet when we went which we prefer. Will take our dog next time as it's dog friendly and there were dog treats at the bar.

Came here last night for a family members birthday meal and can safely say would never return. We arrived at 7:30pm which was pre booked and drinks alone took 20 minutes to come, we were waiting to order for over an hour. By the time we eventually did get to order it was another 30 minute wait to be told some of our orders weren’t Available… no apology at any point for the wait. We were there over two hours before our food arrived and there were items missing and orders done wrong. The man who took our order took one meal down wrong and then argued he hadn’t, which we let go as everyone makes mistakes. the kids meal which we asked to be brought out with the starter took two hours to arrive, our kids were both upset and tired at this point. The only thing they were prompt at was bringing the bill!! Would absolutely not recommend! Shocking service and no apology. When mentioning it wasn’t an acceptable wait at the end of our meal, they were comply unwilling to help or resolve the issue.

I had requested a quieter table which was fulfilled. We arrived with an extra person which was sorted immediately. The waitress was attentive and helpful and the food was really good. So well done The Folly!

Had a visit to the folly pub. Went in was shown to a small table . Asked if we would like a drink we said yes...took 10 minutes to come then only got offered a menu..the pub was relatively quite. We looked at the menu and was shocked on the price for the most simple of food. Steak being above the most expensive...won't be going back there anytime soon ..its a shame to be honest I held my dad's wake there about 5 years ago and it was great.

Popped in for a late lunch while the car charged over at the science park. Lovely greeting and nice, relaxed surroundings. Both chose the veggie burger which was very nice, served with skinny, or in my cases chunky chips and coleslaw. Yum! Definitely worth a visit.
