Great pub good prices and a dance floor at the back

The security staff here are unacceptable, watch them use excessive force on a young girl tonight that was simply trying to explain why her friend was upset, being a doorman myself I fully recognise abuse of power and lack of control, especially on someone ⅓ his size

A lovely outside space here with patio heaters and blankets available if cold. The staff were all friendly and attentive, the outdoor music was good and the prices reasonable. Lovely place.

Popped in for a Sunday afternoon drink in the beer garden, the first time since lockdown. Both my wife and I felt very safe as a result of the well thought out one-way system, all staff wearing face coverings and easy to use ordering system with table service. We had a good long chat with Henry who has obviously worked very hard to make both staff and customers feel safe. We will definitely return and support Henry and his business.

Great place, hospitality was 2nd to none, and staff were excellent in covid 19 exercise. Nice beers, ciders...comfortable bar area, plenty of seating with very well sectioned areas.. nice and pleasant evening.

Revisited The George after 35 years. My parents used to run the place and I was around 13 yrs old. So good to see it's still as lively as I remember. Staff very welcoming and happy to chat about the changes over the years. Lovely beer garden . A little biased but I highly recommend a drink here.

Not sure whats changed in the last month or so to now require SIX SECURITY STAFF all ganged up on the door! Went in on Saturday night as i normally do only to be stopped and interviewed as to what my intentions where. All i wanted was to collect my takeaway from Henry's, but it seems this chap took issue with my spar bag with a few beers in it! For a long time now this has been a quiet but decent place to go. I think, to have that many security staff all grouped at the front door gives the wrong impression and i wasn't the only one to find it slightly intimidating also.

Sadly this pub does not even deserve a 1 star!My fiance and me have visited this pub twice within the last 2 months and have been treated terribly by the staff.The staff are all young girls who are constantly looking in the mirror and ignoring you or worse on there mobile phones talking to there friends, when eventually you receive your drinks they are not even full up and then they give you the wrong drinks! JOKETried to put the juke box on but when songs came on the awful staff decided to turn the music down, I thought I was the customer but not here!The toilets were an absolute disgrace with urine everywhere and by all accounts the ladies was the same!!!Such a shame as other pubs in the village are fantastic and very friendly and excellent at there job.AVOID
