Nice food and nice staff. Service was quite slow. We had to wait almost an hour for our starter. If you have the time, itās a nice place for a lunch.

Table booked for 2.30, called ahead as we were to be early and hoped they could accommodate that, answerphone messaged said to don't don't answer the phone during service ?? Arrived 30 mins early, told we had to wait so got drinks in pub next door, when we finally got allowed in after being the first of the queue there our order was taken last of all the tables, we waited nearly 1hr 30 mins for our food which was average at best, indeed the fish and chips are cheaper at Rick Stein..honest opinion .. not all that !

We had reserved a table for 8 people for 2.30 PM today The staff were friendly and welcoming. All of the friends on our table agreed that the food was delicious and well presented. I had the mussels which were cooked to perfection as a main course. That was followed by a variety of deserts. We were the last to leave. We joked between ourselves that the staff had "Colgate" smiles because they were so attentive and helpful.Enjoyable lunch between friends.Recommended.

The food is brilliant. I had the fish & chips. It was the most succulent cod with the tastiest batter I have had in years & there was more than enough food. In fact the fish, wonderfully fresh, only just fitted the plate! The lovely staff were very attentive without being intrusive & also interacted easily with everyone. You can eat under a weather & windproof awning with a very good view of the river Dart across to Greenway.5* for food5* for staff5* positionEveryone in our party of 8 had wonderful meals, 4 of us had eaten there 2 days before & had just as pleasant time here.I hope anyone who reads this has just as pleasurable afternoon eating, laughing with friends/family as we did.We will be back š. Thank you

Beautiful setting, poor quality food and poor service. For a sundowner I can imagine itās lovely (1 star), but for food sadly the place trades off the previous owners and the location (only 2 on 6 enjoyed their choice so 2nd star). As a mix of locals and visitors in our group overall we were left very disappointed from the experience, If you go please tip the staff, they donāt seem to be treated well, we even had a few racist comments from some staff that may have been in our direction⦠not a great experience. Otherwise the pub opposite is so lovely (if they do food on the day go there!). Sorry anchorstone, beautiful as a location, terrible as a restaurant.

Went yesterday we were told we couldn't come in because they weren't doing lunch still or some random reason. Then they proceeded to let a local (he said 'is my usual table ready?') gentleman in after us. This is prejudice against people who aren't locals. They're lucky they're the only cafe in Dittisham otherwise they wouldn't have a business. I can't imagine treating people so rudely. I worked in John Lewis and we would never treat people like that because frankly it shows a lack of customer service skills. It was also expensive for 2 ice creams and a tea. I wouldn't go here again.

Website & boards confusing. They only do take out in the morning. Their chalk blackboards list items they donāt have, itās like you are supposed to just know. They do two sittings for lunch & ask you to book, but donāt disclose the start times until you call. Couldnāt contact them after calling initially. Consequently only did take out, but that limited choice was of good quality at least.

The customer service was extremely poor. We live locally in Higher Brixham, about 10 minutes from the Greenway ferry to Dittisham, we caught the ferry from Dittisham to Dartmouth and back, we got back at 3.30pm and went to the anchor stone cafe hopefully for hot drinks and a piece of cake. You have to ring for service, when the man came down and we asked if they had a table free, we were told quite forcefully that they ONLY allow tables for lunch meals, as it was 3.30 pm, it was definitely too late for lunch and too early for dinner, and I am sure that all the tables would not have been taken for meals at that time! He did say he could give us a takeaway coffee. Anyhow with that customer service, I will definitely not go there again, nor will I take any friends there in the future. So instead we had a drink at the Ferry Boat Inn before catching the ferry back to Greenway.

Some of the best seafood I've ever eaten. Scratch that THE BEST seafood I've ever eaten.Beautiful views over the estuary, great service, relaxed vibe and did I mention the food?If you're in or around Dittisham, go there now what are you waiting for?If you're in Dartmouth catch the ferry to Dittisham. If you're anywhere else, get in car and drive there right now.We will miss this place everyday until we return.
