Visited this quaint little tea room today. Yes abit oldy worldy but staff were very helpful and friendly. OmgThe scones were delicious and the butter and jam topped them off wonderfully. The other cakes on display were also tempting, massive slices too...but as I had been eating lemon drizzle cake all week thought I better not..Well worth a stop for the cake alone..

This place had a history but they were short staffed and whilst I was there, had one man dealing with everything. Tea was weak but cakes were good. It you like olde worlde surroundings, try it. It wasn't my cup of tea.

Very rude management, the older women with black hair was especially difficult throughout our visit to the cafe. Gentle note - please don’t discipline your staff where customers can hear or at all in such a rude manner! Cakes were ridiculously overpriced for such an underwhelming quality. Will not be back as long as such staff are in place there!!!

Went in for a lovely lunch, the best toasted ham and cheese I've had in a very long time. Nasheen and John we're very under staffed, but we're happy to help and made sure everyone knew what was happening and did a great job.

Do NOT work here. They posted on Facebook they were hiring, so my 15 year old brother applied. They ignored messages for days and wouldn't respond until 3-11 days later. They said they'd be happy to train him for work and asked him to come in. He came in and then was asked to leave and come back the next day. He came back the next day only for the shop to be closed, and nobody had the decency to let him know. He then came back in for when they wanted to train him, and again was asked to leave and come back. He had already started clearing tables and said they were "too busy" for him to work at the moment. I then sent a message on Facebook again asking when he should come back this time, only to get the response "we are not taking on new staff". What on earth. This shop messed my 15 year old brother around, completely wasted his time and is overall a joke. The owner clearly knows nothing about management or how to run a cafe. Their phone doesn't even work and since they actively ignore messages you can't contact them.

Well what can I say an amazing afternoon tea today ,the size of the cakes omg ,ended up taking 2 slices home, Bit pricey but worth the extra money ,very generous and very tasty

It's ok. You get the feeling that it could be much more with the right front of house. Cakes are fine but very overpriced - ÂŁ5.50 a slice? Behave your daft selves - but the tea was good. Wouldn't return because the atmosphere is all wrong.

Nice, pleasant quirky café on the high street. Lovely food and cakes. Nice serving staff and owner. Loses a star for coffee grounds at the bottom of the cappuccino. Gentle note to owner: if you're going to "have a word" with your waitress, please do so out of earshot of your customers. Thanks.

Really lovely tea rooms, with super accommodating staff. My youngest wanted a sausage sandwith (not on the menu) and a vanilla milkshake (only flavor not on the menus) and they were more than happy to oblige. We had the Queen's afternoon tea for 2 which was tasty, and the kids were very happy with their lunch. Fantastic cakes, moist and flavourful. Very happy to recommend.

Popped in for some grub & it was lovely! I had scampi with chips & my wife had jacket spud with cheese & it was lovely! Nice friendly staff too! Went back today for Ham, eggs & chips. The wife had cheddar cheese & branston sandwich with hot chocolate. Scrummy!
