Cafe Alf Resco in South Hams

This cafe is fantastic. Went there on a recommendation of a friend and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Great food and superb service. The staff made my toddler feel really welcome as well!

I would recommend 100% that if you visit Dartmouth, you Visit Cafe Al Resco. A dog friendly cafe where the staff go above a beyond to make you feel at home. They even made sure that the dogs were catered for by giving them some sausages which was a lovely touch.

Great breakfast and amazing atmosphere. I really don’t want to tell anyone about this place. It’s all ready to busy.

A fun, modern cafe in an otherwise 'old-lady' town ! Now, I have nothing against old ladies, but this cafe was a breath of fresh air. It wouldn't be out of place in London.Very fair prices and a nice selection of vegan and gluten free options. Perfect for brunch or lunch.

I have given this café 5 stars as the food is freshly made to order, it has a license and most of all a really good vibe. Everyone was friendly, even gave our dog a sausage.

We had a fab cooked breakfast here, before heading off to Dartmouth Castle. Great coffee too, in interesting surroundings!

Since when have the staff at Cafe Alf Resco let customers find their own table . Today along with my wife we attended this cafe . I spoke to a member of staff as I entered . I asked if there room inside as it was a bit chilly . His attitude was if I wanted to seat inside I was to find table myself and might be able to find a table seating on the end . The member of staff just walked off . What has happened to customer care . We just left and went else where . Cafe Alf Resco can stick with holiday makers and local second home owners , I will not be back. Don’t worry I will pass the word , if I wanted to find a table myself and order at the counter I would go to Costa Coffee .PS , I went to our normal Cafe in the market in Dartmouth , where the staff are attentive and about half the price at Cafe Alf Resco .

Came in with two young children and a dog. Staff brought colouring books for the children and a sausage for the dog! They were incredibly efficient, friendly and helpful. Food was great, as was the atmosphere. Couldn't recommend enough!

We stopped for a late lunch and can say the food was excellent. Cheese and ham toasties were decadent and the Alf's New Yorker was also very tasty. The coffees were also good. The place also had a good atmosphere and had lots of interesting things to look at and enjoy. Staff were friendly and good service. Would definitely recommend and re-visit when back in Dartmouth 🙂

Great hustle and bustle in the mornings, expect to queue for a bit after 9.30am. The tables turn quickly and the food is great value.The team are extremely friendly.
