We had a wonderful meal here this eve.Staff were very accommodating, accepting a late booking. We have now eaten here twice this week.Food has been wonderful, especially the steak.Friendly attentive staff, lovely setting overlooking water, will definitely go back. Thank you.

Owner is rude beyond belief. To point where we stopped eating our food. Threatening behaviour. He’s in the wrong business. Shocking 🤯

Just got back from the most amazing meal I’ve had for god knows how long!! A wonderful setting, super friendly staff and the most delicious food ever. I must have walked past this place 500 times and bizarrely, never ventured in. I won’t make that mistake again. Can’t wait to go back!

Ate here 3 times on two holidays last year and it was excellent. However this week was pretty awful and cancelled our second booking later in week. The batter round the fish was soggy and inedible and the rest of the meal was not much better. Prices have risen everywhere but prices here for a mediocre meal were extortionate. Far better food and value at many other restaurants in Salcombe. Shame as setting is glorious. Perhaps relying too much on its position.

Fish and chips very tasty but overpriced. No atmosphere. Very empty. Service very average and pretentious for the price/atmosphere. Views nice bit obscures by unpleasant blinds and dirty windows.

Very nice meal on Friday evening, the food was very fresh and well cooked. The waitresses working were very friendly and helpful, and the music playing in the restaurant set the perfect atmosphere. The Plymouth gin cocktail was also amazing! Could've maybe had a larger selection of drinks available.... but it was lovely all the same

Unfortunately very disappointing. Chose this place for a group of friends, expecting it to be more special than other places on the high street given the comparatively high prices. On a positive note, the two young waitresses who served us were delightful. However, the rest of the experience was very disappointing: uninspiring menu, very average pub food at high end restaurant prices, poor quality cutlery ( the cheapest of cheap steak knives) , sauces served in MacDonald type paper cups. Resting on its laurels I’m afraid .

Been here many times over the years but this was a really excellent meal on the first day of our recent holiday. When we arrived the apartment above the restaurant had a burglar alarm going off - must have been a bit of a nightmare for staff and diners as apparently it had been going on for ages. But luckily for us stopped 10 minutes after we arrived - to a massive cheer from everybody. Huge kudos to the staff for dealing with some pretty unreasonable patrons.Sat outside, which is a really beautiful space in the early evening. The menu doesn’t seemed to have changed in 5 years, but when it is this good - who cares?

Always a great welcome and service, any time of year. Best fish and chips ever.Visited again to night and had the Linguine, the Fritto Misto as well as the aforementioned Fish and Chips. All superb!

Made an unplanned stop for lunch here with my wife as it was raining. The fish finger butty was so fresh and delicious with homemade tartare sauce. The bucket of fries were triple-cooked and sumptuous. We rounded off proceedings with a coffee each, which was as delicious as the food (the micro foam on the latté was so creamy!), and we shared the rhubarb and custard cake with rhubarb compote and ginger ice cream. Man oh man, a delicious lunch. The staff were efficient and friendly and the view from the restaurant across Salcombe harbour was stunning. I can't recommend this place more.
