"Please follow gov. guidelines re Covid. We regret due to staff shortages CLOSED TUES & WEDNESDAY The Durant Arms, is a dog friendly country pub & a family run free-house with three king-size bedrooms. Owned by The Woollacott family, we are first & foremost a proper village pub. Serving a selection of real ales, ciders, & wines, with hearty home-cooked food using fresh ingredients from local suppliers. We welcome well behaved children until 9pm, our chefs serve smaller portions from our menu where possible. We have one highchair & baby changing facilities in the Ladies. Located on the South Devon national cycle route No. 28 & The Dart Valley scenic walking trail from Totnes, making us a great & convenient stop-off for lunch."

Excellent food and service. Sad to see so many empty seats presumably due to covid fears.

Fantastic beers, outstanding food and service. 10/10!We had a grilled Tuna Steak, a Moroccan inspired Lamb Rump, a real British pie and French soup and every dish was absolutely superb. Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time and from a dainty village.Hats and pants off to the chef!Would certainly recommend, Thank you!!

Wonderful helpful waitress, she was managing the bar, and the restaurant. Unflustered, friendly and efficient.Real ale battered cod fillet straight out of a freezer box, £15 it was cooked as per instruction but expected better.Wouldn’t eat here again but fine for a drink.

·

Best pub food in the area by far! Great selection of Ciders, quality menu with local fresh ingredients. The steak was perfect, burger amazing, Vegan curry had a lovely depth. Cannot recommend enough!

Stayed for two nights. Lovely room with a view across the square. Towels had to be sourced urgently - arrived just before we needed them ✔. Had an evening meal here too. Best chips we have ever had. Not exaggerating.... The breakfasts were good too. Very well - sourced bacon and eggs. Peaceful, friendly and when can we return?....

Very friendly, they weren't officially open when we went there but were in three process of opening and were happy to serve coffees with plant based milk straight away. Don't know about food or the typical 'pub' experience but can vouch that the staff are warm and friendly

Me, my husband, daughter and dog visited today for lunch on the off chance. We were so fortunate to stumble across this little gem of a pub! Fantastic cask ales and the food was divine, as a brewers wife I'm always on the hunt for a 'proper pub' with decent food and I was not disappointed. We were well looked after, our pooch was happy and we left happy with full tummys after we'd stuffed ourselves with such delicious meals! If you're looking for the same things I've mentioned then look in the Durant Arms direction... We would have happily stayed here all day! Can imagine it being even more wonderful on a winters day.Hats off, thank you!
