Fortescue Inn in South Hams

Pub section is ok but the lady server have us a really really grumpy welcome just because we walked in and went to the wrong room looking for a seat for lunch...she basically belittled us for something that was so not a big deal. Not cool. Later she sprayed copious amounts of table cleaner on the next door and very close table with reckless abandon..in a cramped space with no ventilation. Clouds of chemical mist on my food...i had to get up, pay and leave. When I mentioned it to her I got a snarky defensive comment.The pizza itself is very very average for 15 quid. The guy who delivered the pizza to the table was friendly though and also the guy I paid at the bar.

Had wonderful pizzas for dinner last night. Wood fired and authentic. Staff are lovely and they are dig friendly. Well worth a visit!

Only called on for drinks with friends great service, good prices.We have also been in the past to stay. Room great, food lovely, atmosphere in evening good.

Great pub. We had one of their trademark pizza which was very nice. Good beer, friendy staff, what more can you ask of a pub.

What a gem! The place itself is fab, and I'll come to that but 5 gold stars also have to go to the lovely staff, who were smiling, welcoming and looked after us so well, even tho it was a busy Easter Saturday night. I spoke to 4 staff that evening and every single one was helpful and positive as we tried to find a table. One lady in particular was a super star and looked out for our dog too - thank you.The pub itself has something for everyone. A nice restaurant area for a meal that's special , a traditional pub bar, a sports bar with pool tables and American diner style booths for relaxed eating and a nicr garden area (with a screen for viewing sports events, but if that's not your thing some tables are out of view of the screen :).)We really enjoyed out food, I particularly liked the choice of style for fish and chips (battered, breaded or plain grilled), and my partner's steak was absolutely spot on!We'd highly recommend!!

10/10 - excellent overnight stay, the rooms were super clean, tidy and modern. The food was excellent couldn’t fault it. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and even better they let dogs stay! Thank you

We had a fantastic meal at the Fortescue last night. My wife and I are Salcombe regulars and this is always a favourite pub. Lovely cosy atmosphere, log burners going and a really great menu. I can highly recommend the red Thai curry with monk fish and king prawns. You can’t go wrong

We the wife and myself waited for are meals about 45 mins I had Dartmoor steak 🥩 and the wife had. Fish chips and mushy peas my god it was worth the wait , I will definitely go back again and I recommend 💯 percent the staff were also very friendly.
