Stayed in Broadclyst for a family funeral and booked a table for 14 the night before. The food was excellent there wasn’t a single complaint and the staff are lovely. It was all so nice that we booked for the next night too.More expensive than the average pub prices but better quality than the average pub meal.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly efficient staff, nice and clean unlike another venue very near Broadclyst we had the misfortune to book a meal at, walked out as the table and area underneath were filthy and service non existent, Back to the Red Lion which all of our company really liked, will definitely be back.

Fantastic staff and a great place to stay with a dog. Excellent value for money. Good honest pub food using lots of local ingredients (beware the large portions! ).

Went there on the off chance they would have availability on a Saturday evening for my partner and myself, staff very helpful and we enjoyed excellent food and drink, try the cassoulet if on really good. Would highly recommend the Red Lion at Broadclyst.

We were 3 couples meeting at The Red Lion as we have done on occasion, as coming from all directions far a field it’s a central meeting pub. A nice pub. We have never had any issues before.This visit left a very bitter taste!! This was due to an absolute pet hate of mine, being asked to leave your table as it’s needed for other dinners. No prior warning given when booking the reservation, so that one can make the choice whether to book or not.When I go out and meet people I like to spend a leisurely time eating, drinking and chatting, especially when I haven’t seen them for a while. To me it’s an overall social experience, not just popping in to grab a quick bite.The staff were very attentive and extremely quick regarding our ordering and drinks etc. I , at that point did not have any suspicion as to why, until we were given the bill and asked to leave!!!!THE PROPRIETOR BASICALLY WAS SAYING WE HAVE GOT YOUR MONEY, SO YOU CAN ALL “SOD OFF “ NOW.For the sake of prior warning, the pub has now lost 6 customers. Maybe it can afford to? Because we will not be returning to an establishment that implies “ WE WANT YOUR MONEY BUT NOT YOU.
