Stokeley Cafe in South Hams

Fabulous farm shop. Nice healthy plants. Cafe a disaster. Staff hiding. Left waiting so long we gave up and left. Need to up their game.

We booked a table for 3 for pizza night. I love the beer here, served on gravity and fresh. The pizzas did take 45 minutes to arrive but that was not a problem as they were superb. The staff here are always helpful and very accommodating (we have visited several times over the last two years). Lovely evening.

Poor service. We were ‘greeted’ by the announcement that they were busy and we’d have to wait a long time to be served. I was informed that the chips weren’t vegan but ‘all the salads are’ - the salads included chicken salad, halloumi salad and so on. I opted for the lentil salad which was basically a side salad with a sprinkling of lentils. Over £8!! Come on, keep up with the times. Must say that the waitress who brought our food was lovely - keep her and get rid of the rest!

Fantastic breakfast, and well stocked shop with quality items. Staff were busy but efficient and nice to deal with. A good spot.

Visited yesterday,enjoyed the shop but the lady on the till was not overly welcoming or helpful. Had a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe,the waitress was great.

Went to pizza night at the tap room. Poor. No enthusiasm for what they are doing at all, which is a total shame because the setting is great and the beer is okay. The problem is the locals want it to be a locals’ place and neither they, nor the staff want tourists to be there. (Tip: if you don’t want city money, don’t copy a city idea). The staff themselves don’t try to hide the fact they don’t want to be there. Barman was miserable. Overheard chefs moaning about having to make more pizza (!) and you could tell in the eating. No music, no vibes and just going through the motions. Given an extra star to the waitress, who was the only good thing about the evening.

Nice shop, rude staff...The shop itself is lovely but the woman who served me at the till yesterday treated me as though she resented my existence, not as if I was spending money there. It wasn't busy and I was perfectly polite to her. I felt like walking out - I was so taken aback by her rudeness that I've bothered to post this review, the first time I've ever done so. I sincerely hope someone at Stokeley reads it and tries to correct things. You know? Good manners cost you nothing. Bad manners have just cost you a customer.

Best Full English I've had in a long time. Poached eggs were perfect, hash browns crispy, sausages divine. Recommend the Farmers b'fast as you get 2 sausages!!:-)

We stopped off after a coastal walk, and walked in to a lovely atmosphere and vibe. Having the shops, microbrewery and farm shop made it a fab place to hang out (even in COVID times). The burger was the best I’ve had in years. Simple ingredients, and tasty.

Amazing place!! Great food, great farm shop, great beer and friendly efficient service! 💛
