We went for a Tuesday evening dinner and had the cuttlefish as a starter followed by the brill and the basque style cheese cake. All dishes were to die for and we highly recommend the Bull Inn for its friendly service and the quality of food. A truly awesome evening out!

One of the best meals we've had in Totnes so far; delicious fresh and seasonal food, wonderful veggie options, well sized portions (sadly no space in our bellies left for dessert, so we plan to return!). Very reasonable pricing given the quality of the food/the ethical standards they hold themselves too; for us, perfect as a treat out. Attentive and friendly staff. We will be back!

Lovely pub in the top end of Totnes Town high Street so great location.Tasteful interior, light and airy intimate dining area. The food is very well sourced and cookedby quality chefs. The menu is written on one chalk board, like a special board, there are no printed menus with choices for both meat eaters and plant base diets, the vegetables are all seasonal.Medium level pricing,it would be great for a treat or regular dining. A Very lovely dining experience.

We had dinner at The Bull this week. It’s a fabulous setting (you could be in France). The cocktails live up to their excellent reputation and everyone seems to be trying them. It’s very dog friendly and they gave us a great table where our dog was not in anyone’s way. The (ethical) wine list is very good value and the Corbières was delicious. We had the onion and fennel gratin to start and the bavette and the lamb for our main course. The ingredients were first rate and the sauces / jus beautifully prepared, but, the excessive use of salt in all the dishes, particularly the potato side, really spoilt the flavours. My wife never objects to salty food, but even she found it too much. It’s a shame that such delicious ingredients and clearly skilful cooking were not allowed to shine through.

We came here at short notice for lunch on NYE and they were able to squeeze us in. It was hands down one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time. We selected several small plates and weren’t disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff

Outstanding vegetarian food, however the salted Pollock starter was the most amazing taste I've had in a long time. Reasonably priced for the quality. Wine list very good, particularly the white choices.

The fennel starter is so delicious! Who knew capers and raisin could taste so divine? We had a great spot by the fire and a delicious glass of orange wine! Will come again soon x

We came through Totnes on the way home from a break away just on a whim. I was gutted that so many places were closed on a Sunday so had to hastily Google 'vegan food Totnes' in the hope of finding somewhere. It didn't look hopeful - from what I skimmed, it sounded as though vegan night was Tuesday... but how wrong was I?!This food was incredible! It was honestly the best vegan food we'd had in ages, and so refreshing to find chefs that really know how to cook with vegetables (rather than it feeling like an after-thought). I don't think we'd have been able to justify the price if I'd had a chance to look at the menu beforehand (not because the ingredients weren't worth it, we can't really afford to eat out), but now I've eaten there I'd happily go again if passing through. Oh, and I must add, my partner said the mushrooms were the best he'd had, which I'm gutted about because I used to be a chef, so good job! 👍All staff were lovely & accommodating, and checked in on us occasionally/just the right amount. My toddler had been stuck in the car for ages, so was keen to run off energy around our table 🙄 and staff interacted with him rather than seeing him as a nuisance, which honestly really helped me feel a bit less stressed/guilty about it. They were also more than happy to let me know which dishes were soy free so my toddler could share with me too.Thank you!

A nice set of vegan breakfast options with helpful staff and good coffee. Can't speak for the evening menu but the quality of the breakfast was great. There's an emphasis on local, high quality produce which felt more meaningful here than it does when the chains say it.One if the few places open on a Sunday/Monday with any vegan choice so booking is advised.
