I urge you to visit to Castle Cafe, what a surprise to find that they're serving Sunday Roast. The roast was first rate, with all the trimmings, all for £10.95 and a roaring fire 🔥 what more can we have. The manage was pleasant and despite being busy had time to chat. Go there. Ps just found out it's not owned by English Heritage, if it was me thinks it would bedouble thethe price.

Had a excellent breakfast here. After visiting the castle decided to get some food. My full breakfast was delicious and the portions are big. My daughter had a bacon and egg bap that would have fed 2 people. Definitely recommend

We ordered a sausage bap and leek and potato soup.... The sausage bap came on a cheap seeded burger roll which was not nice the sausages were terrible. the seeded bread with the soup was stale.... Shame as a lovely location and friendly staff

Very lovely cafe in the woods beside the ruins of a medieval haunted castle. The homemade chicken gougons are to die for!

·

A great cafe! Good food & lovely service. We popped in for a quick and tasty breakfast which easily met our expectations. The toast was delivered with a serving of marmalade which made my day. And as for their wonderful cakes...? Next time 😊

The lady working on her own this morning was fabulous. Rushed off her feet and still was very attentive and jolly. We came in for a cream tea and it was amazing. Had a lovely little table outside. Will be returning

A warm welcome on a rainy day. After a torrential downpour we were invited in by Georgie to dry off. We chose the falafel & hummus with side salad, a cream tea and vegan flapjack. Situated just at the entrance to the castle and just off the John Musgrave Heritage trail we’d taken from Farthing Lane in Marldon.

Excellent cream tea, with choice of fruit or plain scones which were delicious. Generous portions and plenty of clotted cream and strawberry jam with good, strong tea.Nice and clean, good view of castle too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our two dogs were made welcome too. Highly recommended.

Best cream tea I've ever had!...and huge too. Great view of castle from outside covered seating area and even allowed our little dog in. Orange flavoured scone was our favourite 😋
