The Codfather in South Hams

Just down here for the week, thought we would try local fish and chips, thought they were absolutely lovely, unfortunately just missed the restaurant but the staff were very good and served them in cartons so we could have them in the car, no complaints at all much better than our local ones in Kent.

I live locally and can honestly say this is the best fish and chip shop EVER. Friendly staff and great food at good prices. You truly cannot beat this restaurant.

Waited an hour in the queue for disgusting food, chips had black specks on them from dirty oil and they tasted very strange, the cod and battered sausages were dripping in fat and that was all you could taste, all that privilege for £16.00. Stay well away and save your money! Clear to say we won't be going back!!

Friendly staff, great tasting food and the only reason I can't give this a five star review is because we did have to queue for quite a while before even getting into the building (probably the only negative to being so popular) I would definitely return here if I'm ever down that way again

Great fish and chips (pickled eggs etc). Batter a bit on the thick side, but really tasty and good value.

Visited last night and awesome as always.. A few new members of staff recently that are fantastic, very polite and very quick service.Really is the best fish and chip restaurant and takeaway locally. Have frequented many times over the past 4 years living in the area and never had a complaint with the food. My personal suggestion large cod and chips with curry sauce! Best cod in the South West that's for sure

Great take away service from this clearly popular chippy. They coped extremely well with our overly large take away order & everything was correct when we dished it up.Whilst we waited we saw the queue grow considerably & quickly disappear again.There is a seating area that wasn't clearly open but people in the know used it & dined in.The food it's self was well portioned, piping hot and very nice. My only criticism, if I have to make one, was that the fish batter was a bit greasy, but none of our party complained and we had 13 happy tummies!Thank you to The Cod Farther for our lovely supper.
