The Cottage Hotel in South Hams

A Red Letter day treat that we turned into a mini break. So glad we did. Lovely old, family run hotel with superb views over Hope Bay in South Devon. Accommodation, food and service were excellent. Lovely walks to beautiful beaches with stunning views en route.

An excellent hotel. The friendly staff could not have been more accommodating.Everything, the location, the rooms and the food, was first class.I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to everyone.

This place is great, such a relaxed atmosphere and nothing is ever too much trouble. Hope cove is super chilled, great walks and a couple nice pubs too, so much food it's unreal. Dogs welcome so will be taking the little fella with us next time!

Superb Valentine supper - beautifully cooked and presented. The Rack of Lamb and Trifle were scrumptious!Such attention to detail by Sarah, William, and all the staff are second to none.Thank you for a splendid, relaxed evening.

If you are looking for a traditional, family orientated hotel that fits all generations then this is the place to stay. Wonderful views looking directly over the Cove, you can see and smell the sounds and sights of the seaside here. The food is hearty traditional fayre, you'll never leave feeling hungry!

They were great from the moment we got there until we left. From the staff the food the service nothing was to much bother and very clean brilliant location will definitely stay again. Thanks for such a memorable stay for a fair price hotel see you again soon

Have just returned from a three day Retreat at the Cottage Hotel. The food was excellent, every diet was catered for be it vegan, vegetarian or food intolerances. Breakfast was a feast with multiple choices to suit every palate. Dinner menu changed each evening with five courses of delight. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I have to say the Head Waiter deserved a medal. The hotel is in an unbeatable idyllic setting with owners who really care. Perfect in every way.

We loved our time here it was short but sweet from first impression the hotel is old traditional hotel however the reception is welcoming and warm. Excellent staff from check in to check out. Delicious afternoon tea , comfortable bed and amazing 5 course dinner as we choose the half board options. We had our two kids with us 2 year old and 6 year old and I was impressed how friendly the staff were with children.One evening we ordered the kids dinner to be served at 5.30pm and the chef made tomato pasta sauce my toddler loved it normally she is fussy eater. We said thank you the chef I believe his name is Edgar our lovely waitress introduced us to him.Also for the morning time we asked if they had pancakes for kids it wasn’t on the menus but they still made it for the kids and even found maple syrup. 5* serviceWe booked family room with beautiful sea views.
