The Crab Shed in South Hams

Wow! A straightforward, but tasty menu... this food must be sampled. Warning: if you order the whole crab- be prepared for some rewarding work! Service is great- everything works well at this cosy little establishment... never change a thing. Thank you both for looking after us!

Just lovely sitting outside in the sun looking at the estuary while eating the most delicious, fresh seafood... the crab linguine was off the charts as was the fresh crab & the crab fries - so lucky to have been twice while we were away.

Chose for our 40th wedding anniversary lunch, the food was wonderful. Friendly, helpful and entertaining staff helped to make it memorable.

Outstanding! While enjoying a Gin and tonic at Salcombe distillery, the shed caught our attention and we popped in. They were full inside but we’re thrilled to get a nice table outside on the water. We decided to just have one of everything- scallops, chili garlic shrimp, crab salad, crab fries, mussels and enjoyed family style. Everything was excellent and I’d order all of them again, though we might each get our own scallops- they were the star. Beyond the excellent food, the young lad who served us took such pride in their food, making sure we were well looked after, and sharing the pride in his hometown. I failed to get his name, but he let us know the ice cream we concluded with was his dads own recipe, and the best around.It was so good, we grabbed crab sandwiches on our way out of town the best afternoon. While our friend from the previous night wasn’t working, we were once again treated to wonderful service.

This was fantastic. Food was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was so lovely. The best place for lunch in Salcombe.The crab fries are a must have side, and the mussels are a step above others I've had in the area. I recommend the Salcombe ale to wash it down. :)

Highlight of my holiday! Stunning fresh seafood, lovely staff and I thought it was incredibly well priced for the quality and amount of food. Eating here felt like a real treat and I would recommend to anyone!

Great place, very friendly staff who where focused and pleased to help. Dog friendly. Small space but well run. Prices on the high side but so is the quality. Especially recommended on a sunny day. Prawns were a favourite of our group. Crab well cooked. Chocolate pud with Mango sorbet was not too large and a lovely end to the meal.

Myself and my husband booked in advance as they are booked up for a long time ahead. Firstly I’ll start with the not so great bits….. the parking is atrocious, we where booked in for 12.30 and cars just kept coming in ….. we ended up parking where the fishermen park and got a parking ticket £70 so after an expensive meal we had this on top….The service was fab we had a lovely blonde lady serve us she was very bright and happy and nothing was to much trouble…..Very friendly lady the food was excellent my husband is a chef and eating out is always a mission and can be …well not great as he is always a critic!! He is hard to please when it comes to food however we both where very happy with the food it beautiful Xxx I certainly would recommend this place xx thank you chefs and waitresses xx

A great spot with the evening sun and some delicious food.Prawns and crab were delicious, (prawns some of the best I have ever had). Mussels were plain and we didn’t eat them.Service was good.Be nice if they gave you proper ketchup and Mayo from a little pot instead of cheap sachets - neither of the sauces were nice - (ruined my chips!). Expect better than that for the price of the meal.
