The George Inn Blackawton in South Hams

Went for a meal in October, with friends.. Not just a great atmosphere but obviously a pub that knows the meaning of 'Public' house; ie. locals and visitors treated to an equal and natural welcome... then there's the GREAT food both delicious flavour combinations AND excellent basic grub at reasonable prices...Eating and drinking here was honestly the highlight of my time in this part of Devon!

Wow, simply wonderful! Amazing staff, even better food and beautifully designed throughout. Cannot recommend enough.

Had a really pleasant late stay and dinner at this Inn. The room and the pub are attractively decorated. Relaxed atmosphere on the Friday night I went. Interesting and varied menu. Excellent service.

Beautiful and peaceful little b&b with gorgeous food, lovely staff and beautiful views!Rooms are a little small but cosy and well decorated.Knocked a star off due to lack of black out curtains. Travelling in the summer and early sunrises, current curtains let the smallest light in which woke us up very early after a long day.

Lovely place to stay, we were really well looked after by Jon, Catherine and Yvonne. The staff went out of their way to ensure our dietary requirements were met and that our stay was enjoyable. We would certainly stay here again!!

We had a Sunday roast here whilst on holiday in Blackawton (booked in advance) our daughter’s Vegan, and the chef had very kindly made her something in advance. The roast beef was delicious as was the walnut brownie for pudding. Our waitress was lovely - we may be back for lunch soon! Highly recommend! Thankyou 😋

Stayed at the George last night with my partner and two children. The staff and locals were welcoming and the room was clean and spacious. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was absolutely divine, as was the breakfast which set us up well for a rather wet day at woodlands theme park. I would fully recommend both the food and the accommodation and look forward to visiting again soon.

We went to The George Inn for dinner whilst staying in the area on holiday. I would recommend booking in advance as the indoor eating area is small but cosy. But the food is great quality and the service is friendly and relaxed. Great pub garden with a lovely view too.
