The Globe Inn in South Hams

We arrived late due to traffic hold up but they kept serving late just for us. Warm welcome and wonderful treatment by owners and staff. Excellent food with good atmosphere in restaurant and bar. Staff couldn't help us enough and gave us benefit of local knowledge about attractions. Thought it was an excellent stay and a very reasonable price for the first class service we received. We have recommended it to all our family and friends.

We stayed for two nights here. The rooms were lovely and clean. Everything functioned perfectly. The shower was better than the one we have at home. The beds were super comfy not too soft or to hard. Breakfast was perfect not too big or too small. The landlady couldn't do enough for us she was so friendly her hosting skills were amazing. This was in a quiet place but not too far a drive from all the excitement of the seaside.

A really relaxed and lovely atmosphere, with a fireplace in the corner. The food was really well presented and treated amazing. Lovely local drinks available. I would highly recommend.

We have been staying in the village for the past week and visited every day for drinks and twice for food. The food was really good pub food, a great range of choices, good portions and perfectly cooked. The steak and ale pie and fish pie were especially tasty.What makes this a special pub is the wonderful team. All the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the local beers and cider. The landlady is a lovely lady and works so hard, we had a really nice chat with her every day when she had the time, and she always remembered our dog Kendal's name. It was really nice to be made to feel like a local when you're a tourist!

Absolutely superb dinner visit, only downside...I didn't have room for dessert!Visited as a family of 4, with two under tens.Shared whitebait and breads for starter, followed by fish pie for the adults, and options from the kids menu for the little ones.We all thought the food was absolutely delicious and the range of options was really great. Beer and wine options were very satisfactory too. Would happily visit again, and recommend.

Tuesday evening and booked for a meal for two. Not been here before. First impression: staff are jovial and friendly. Meal matched expectations in a friendly, spacious and safe environment. Decided to come again next week. How good is that?

What a lovely little find! Rooms very clean and well equipped, food absolutely superb and a very nice bar, topped off by a very polite team of staff, very friendly too. The owners have surely to be proud of what they have! I would not hesitate in recommending this everyone seeking somewhere to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Love this pub! Our holidays wouldn't be the same without a visitor 3 to the Globe! The cater brilliantly for gluten free and vegan requirements. The staff were brilliant, especially Curtis who really went out of his way to help us!!!

Excellent pub with delicious food all locally sourced and cooked impeccably. Plenty of off-road parking, it offers 8 letting rooms also but they are hard to come by as its generally fully booked all year round. Lovely hosts Linda and John probably account for the sought after rooms. Nice to find a freehold still open without any attachment to money grabbing brewery's with only gross profits in mind instead of the most important factor of all guest experience, something the Globe does well all round. Highly recommended. The chefs really handsome and single I hear too...

Stayed nearby and visited the Inn in the evening. Good ranges of beers and lager and a great pub menu. The specials were usually local produce, we especially liked the seafood pie and seafood pancake. The staff were lovely and very attentive despite all the restrictions for Covid.
