Lovely location and really friendly staff but £12.50 for two coffees and two small pieces of cake is a bit steep, particularly after having to pay £5 for the car park alongside. Menu looked interesting but pricey.

What a find. A lovely cafe in a stunning location. We've enjoyed a few visits here whilst on holiday. Interesting dishes, beautifully presented by cheery staff. Plenty of outside tables with several in a marquee with wood burner. Well worth a visit. Currently open Thursday to Sunday.

Had great cooked breakfast , lovely view across the inlet, full of wild life to watch. Very good service, everything was freshly cooked and delicious.

Excellent place for meals, coffee and cake. We had two very good pizzas cooked in a wood oven.

Taking a pride in the quality of the drinks served is strangely an essential requirement that many places don’t have. Not the River Shack. Lovely, engaging staff talk animatedly about the gin. There’s a whole discussion about how we’d like the Bloody Mary and there’s a good deal of knowledge about the wines and beers they serve. It’s also a perfect setting by the water and boats to sit outside and while away a sunny afternoon choosing plates from a locally sourced menu.

Beautiful waterside cafe serving fresh local food. They also offer lots of gluten free choices & are very dog friendly. It gets really busy so recommend booking a table. Otherwise you may just have to make use of their takeaway food & drink options.Word of warning - it is very easy to get lost in the village & some lanes are extremely narrow to drive through. Once in the village centre, turn up the road with the Post Office on your right then take next left. You will eventually get to the bottom of the hill & the cafe & parking will be on the left. All day parking costs £5.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! What a beautiful little place with a great view. The breakfast service was amazing. Coffee was much better than I expected for a little Devon cafe, rivalling some of the artisan coffee shops in London. And the food was spectacular! All prepared in a timely manner and with great customer service! We will definitely be kayaking back up from Dartmouth again soon to explore more of the menu!

Most stunning location I have visited in a while, recommended and will definitely return. Beautiful setting to take in the idyllic scenery. Food outstanding, great quality dining for breakfast, great variable menu seen for lunch. Staff welcoming, very friendly and attentive service, regularly checking on guests comfort and good experience, you won't be disappointed. Parking is £5 all day with accessible toilet facilities. We also visited Greenway (National Trust) only 5 miles from Stoke Gabriel and took the water taxi across the river to Dittisham. Lovely day out.
