We organised our late father's wake at the Steam Packet and I am so glad we did. The room and view was lovely and the food and service was just excellent. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you to all the staff for making the occasion go so well.

Absolutely beautiful location, friendly staff. The food is plentiful pub grub but is on the expensive side I felt. For instance, my crab sandwich was packed, but not with white meat so the price seemed high.

Excellent, inexpensive, tasty food with helpful, friendly service. Great outdoor seating with lovely waterside location. Best place to eat in Totnes.

We stayed overnight and also had a meal. The food was delicious and the portions soooo big. Very good value for money. The room was really lovely too - clean, modern decoration, everything you could need. The people staying above us were rather noisy which was the only slight negative and not the fault of the pub. Location was fantastic and Totnes was beautiful. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

As vegetarians, we wouldn't go back for their veggie options (apart from maybe would try their veggie roast) - seemed to be frozen food/burgers bought from the supermarket. Their halloumi fries were nice though. Some unpleasant smells in the restaurant. Nice staff.

I stayed the night which the office booked for me. Great food, I had the steak burger, defo have it again. Rooms are clean and fresh. The room had a fridge outside which contained fresh milk for teas, coffee's etc

A great warm welcome here. We were out on motorcycle ride on a nice sunny but cold day. Stopped here for a pint and a bit of a warm up. Well worth a visit.

Flipping lovely. The rooms are neat, clean and the beds are comfortable. It's surprisingly quiet for somewhere relatively central. There were two vegan options on the dinner and breakfast menus (including pancakes). Staff were very helpful, altering the lunch menu to accommodate us.The pub itself is welcoming with a pretty standard drinks selection. There's an open fire (always a joy in winter) and plenty of table seating. If you're staying here, especially in the winter, breakfast at the pub is highly recommended. Totnes is small and many places only open for half of the week. We got caught out thinking we could easily stumble upon breakfast in the town but nothing much was open. The town and riverside walks are all easily accessible from here and on site parking is free.

Great place to stay. If you're like me you might be a bit apprehensive about staying in a room in a pub, but this turned out to be one of the best experiences of a lengthy trip staying in several hotels. Fabulous and spotless room worthy of the best boutique hotels in a quite central riverside location. Staff really looked after us. Hearty and quality breakfast whilst watching the rowers practice on the river. Don't hesitate, you won't regret it
