Popped in Friday lunch time for a meal looked at the menu price range and thought erm little bit on the dear side but wow was it worth it ! Yes superb quality sourced superbly cooked, very friendly obliging staff. 9.5 out of 10 Definitely recommended this venue....

Sadly not an especially good experience .Came in for Sunday lunch , took nearly 40 mins to arrive and when it did it was barely luke warm. The vegetables arrived in a stone cold dish . We returned the food and it was ‘heated’ . Not what you expect at £16 for a main course .

Do you think food should be an art form do you like pretentious places meals and flavours mixed together to make a unique menu that you will get no where else we'll this is the place for youThe staff are friendly the venue is clean and polished and it's an upmarket venue in a very pleasant town if you like somewhere different and the hotel looks very good too 😀 give it a go you will be pleasantly surprised 😮

Quite the most delightful meal. And when my mother-in-law asked if she could have the figs removed from a dessert, the chef came to our table and offered to alter it with an alternative fruit just for her. That's service for you.

We visited the White Hart Inn while camping nearby, and sat at a table in the bar area as it’s dog friendly.The menu had recently been updated and we chose steak and chips and chicken with potato dauphinoise which were delicious.We then had a nice crumble with ice cream and sticky toffee pudding which came a little dry but was saved by the ice cream.Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely BRILLIANT! Would give 10 stars if I could. Stayed in hotel and welcomed by owner/chef, Chris, who said he bought the place in Dec 2019 and has refurbished it - with great taste. Very friendly, efficient staff. Beautiful bedrooms. Food, breakfast and dinner, was amazing. I'm dairy-intolerant and this was not only catered for, but remembered by staff. Stunning and inventive delicious dishes. The White Hart will be a firm favourite from now on.

Great food chosen from a focused menu with local meat, fish and vegetarian options. Not the cheapest, but good quality ingredients,l prepared with care and all our dishes tasted delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service good. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and meant you could relax and enjoy the company and conversation. Covid measures are professionally implemented, but not to the detriment of the experience. We had a minor issue with one of the accompanying dishes, but it was handled quickly, politely and very professionally to our complete satisfaction. Overall a great meal in a highly recommended restaurant.

Staying nearby and decided last minute to go out to eat, rang to book table extremely polite and helpful,Food was excellent! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, we had our two dogs with us so we had a table in the bar, after taking our drinks order they appeared with treats a blanket for the dogs to sit on and a doggy bowl of water! Service was spot on and friendly, would definitely go again. Well done to that team.😁

Been here a few times now and I really enjoy the whole experience. The new Landlords have really nailed this place!I thought I would leave a review because I have stayed here for 3 weekends now. Each time I have been made such a fuss of and made to feel so welcome. I am very surprised about the negative reviews because it doesn't correspond to my experience there. I also speak about my whole party which was at least 4 people each time. The hospitality is absolutely top draw.First of all the food is absolutely spectacular. Such a lovely menu and you always walk away very satisfied. The Roast Dinner is a highlight on a Sunday. I really enjoy the salad bar. Chips are really nice! And the Coffee is superb! I also have to say that relaxing by the fire after a good feed is a lovely feeling.5 star accommodation, so cosy in the rooms and romantic but also great for families. It is just such a lovely and cosy pub. Roaring fire with lovely seats. Great atmosphere. A truly incredible selection of beverages. Really tasty and wholesome food. Choice of two bars. Love the old school vibe of this place. The St Austell beers are a real highlight. There is a Pool table and a Dartboard upstairs which is such a laugh and also a rare past-time these days!I travel from London regularly because I just love to get out of the big smoke and spend time in nature and by the sea. I used to stay at the Exeter Inn but The White Hart Hotel has become my new favourite for myself, friends and family. Because we can use it as a base at the hotel and enjoy lovely meals when we are there and little Modbury, which is so quaint, and very English!I hope this review has been helpful, in depth and informative. I only really give out reviews for places that truly deserve it. I am returning in a few weeks with another big group of us! That's how much I love it!So look no further than this lovely place for a great weekend or for food!

Surprisingly good pub food. Very tasty burgers made from local ingredients. Kids meals really good value and good quality. Chips were skinny fries which were fine, real fries would have resulted in 5 stars.
