Perfect location just across the road from the beach so you can have fun on the beach with the little ones and then head over to the restaurant for a drink and some food . Good food , nice service , slightly pricey but you are paying for the view and location so you expect it , we always make a couple of visits everytime we go on holiday to salcome when we head to the beach. Would definitely recommend a visit .

We stopped for two small plates. The mackerel beetroot and salted cucumber salad was superb. The prawn cocktail also good. The craft beer and wine spritzers were fine also, although the beer certainly not cheap. A definite recommend.

Unfortunately we had a bit of drizzle but you can't have everything!Food was great, service was very quick via their app.Great location near a small dog friendly beach and cove.

Situated wonderfully on South Sands its a very nice place. Service was a little difficult to obtain, but then our crab sandwiches came speedily. They were tasty, full of white and brown crab with some tomato and cucumber we weren't expecting. This place is on the expensive side because of it's lovely location, however the quality of food for the price was very good.

One if our favourite places to visit when we are on holiday in Devon. Situated at North Sands whitch is one of the best beaches along this part of the coast especially if you have kids. The Winking Prawn makes a welcome stop to your day. The soup of the day is always a good bet and the Popcorn Shrimp is just the best. Love it!

Nice place to stop for a coffee or a snack on a winter coastal walk. Easy online ordering system via their website. Rapid delivery to the table. Nice food at reasonable prices. Imagine it could be chaotic in the summer as it's ideally situated for the beach.

Went with my son today for lunch. Beautiful setting and friendly staff but the food was tasteless and disappointing. Certainly not worth the money. I had the crab and prawn salad and my son the scallops and bacon salad, costing around £15 each. It really was bland and had better food at a supermarket cafe. Such a shame, we both felt it was a huge waste of money.

The Winking Prawn is the only beach cafe we saw at Salcombe, North Sands which offered scenic views sheltered by tall shards of greenery. We were seated outdoors and started our meal with a delicious jug of Pimms. The staff were incredibly kind and had a lot of knowledge of the local area. After an hour of being seated we ordered our food: an incredibly soft prawn cocktail, half a pint of fried prawns, Fruits De Mer and fries. The food was fresh, seasonal and carefully prepared on the BBQ. I particularly enjoyed the accompaniments of: Mixed Dressed Salad Bowl, Warm Dressed Potatoes, Half Baguette, Garlic Mayo, Black Pepper Dip, Sweet Chilli Sauce and BBQ Dip.I cannot believe we ended up staying seated for 3.5 hours! Glad to have gone before the rush hour to thoroughly enjoy the food, view and company.Thank you so much for having us!

What a find! Great location and food was delicious. Most impressed by the quality of service and the speed at which we were served. If only all establishments were so brilliantly run. Well done to all the staff who were so polite, attentive and interested.

Can't fault the place, seafood is my wife's thing and she loves it. Staff, set up and food were excellent. Parking wasn't the best but it was a busy day. Wifey definitely wants to go back. Next time we use the park and ride. It wasn't extremely reasonable pricing for the area too.
