Candlelight Inn in South Somerset

Exceptionally fine food with every ingredient making its presence known in a series of complimentary and contrasting fusions. There is a very special kitchen at this restaurant. Staff have a warm and welcoming manner. The interior has a delightful modern style within an attractive 17th Century country pub.Toilets were spotlessly clean and fragrant.Excellent coffee.I enjoyed my visit; thank you.

What a wonderful surprise this place is. We booked last minute the night before by phone very late expecting to be turned down but Simon and Mike fitted us in at a time to suit on an already packed Friday night service. The food was outstanding and the drinks and service to match. All very reasonably priced. It is the best meal and night out we have had in ages. To top it all off we could park our campervan and sleep overnight. There is electric hookup should you need it. We didn't but nice to know if we visit during winter and the solar isn't sufficient. Thanks so much to all at the Candlelight Inn... we will return.Best bit... the Brownie Ice Cream! and now tops my personal ice cream chart.

Turned up “late” 8.40pm when kitchen was closing at 8.45pm. But staff were happy to serve us and we had a great experience without any rush due to the impending kitchen closure. Even changed my burger as I found it a little too spicy.Fantastic service, great atmosphere and very trendy interior.Can’t wait to visit again.

Fantastic place to eat. Had Sunday lunch, one of the best meals ever. Went again o the Thursday night, fine dining..superb. owners and staff couldn't do enough. Also dog friendly which was the icing on the cake.

Absolutely brilliant, every course more amazingly delicious than the last. Service was fantastic, ambience too. Decor all new well kept and clean. A sumptuously perfect lunch in every aspect.

Beautiful pub, lovely friendly atmosphere. Food was amazing, good sized portions, too much for me. Nearly all items on the menu were adaptable to be gluten free. Will definitely return

High quality delicious food. The starters seemed expensive for the amount offered. The interior was really nice and tastefully done. Will definitely return in the future.

Can't say enough good things about this pub. The food is faultless and the service is second to none. We were on holiday nearby and went for Sunday lunch. We loved it and went back a few days later for the a la carte evening meal. Wonderful, just wonderful. It's dog friendly too with water and a bowl of biscuits for your four legged friend.
