Cardamom in South Somerset

Our regular local restaurant. We love their foods and we know some of the staff. We sometimes go there 2/3 a year, to eat in, for birthdays and Anniversary meal. But other times we have takeaways.

Great food. Friendly staff.

Wouldn't let me keep my poppadoms on the table to eat with my main. Absolutely disgusted by the attitude of the server. Soured an otherwise good dining experience. We've had takeaway from Cardamom on many occasions (generally quite expensive but worth it; although we've had bits forgotten in the past) and I would recommend them for that but I will continue avoiding eating in.

Haven't been for a sit down dinner here in ages and so glad we did. The service was, as always excellent, as is the food. We were told about the bring your own alcohol so were happy to take along beer and wine. A lovely evening which we are hoping to repeat on a regular basis

Great food, fresh, tasty and nicely presented!

I've reviewed this restaurant before,nothings changed!! Still as good as ever!! The only thing that has changed is that they no longer serve alcohol,BUT you are free to take your own and at the moment they do not charge corkage!

Hadn't been here in a several years, and HOOO BOY--- if you live in the area, please please do pay Cardamom a visit. Just stunning food-- truly delicious, freshly prepared curries, excellent naans, extremely reasonable prices, and really lovely service: the staff are friendly, professional, and know the menu back to front. Our waiter Amin was charming and provided excellent service. Now that we know just how brilliant Cardamom has become we will be back all the time! :-)For those wondering, as restaurants do tend to vary: I would say that the food here swings slightly mild -- the creamy curries like the korma and the Tikka Massala are very sweet and indulgent, so don't be afraid to try a medium spice dish if you're nervous. We had two of the special chicken dishes (one cooked with ginger, the other with a special pickle) and my husband had the lamb shank, which came with a delicious chickpea sauce. All dishes were superb.

Lovely little place, with calm atmosphere.They do have to deal with take away orders at the same time as wait on tables, so as it happened one waiter left our table rudely in the middle of taking the order.That being said, the staff is otherwise attentive and smart.Food is delicious, you get all the flavours as described in menu. Samosas, cheesy mushrooms, rice, lamb, mango curry. All cooked to perfection!We can't wait to go back and try some more.
