Our first restaurant/pub visit since December 2019 and we were not disappointed! Both started with an Otter real ale before embarking on our meal. Delicious Paignton scallops to start, followed by a Chef’s special Paignton lobster for Madame and a Cotley Estate haunch of venison for Monsieur. The Chablis was divine but also an excellent range of cheaper wines. If you think this is a pub style restaurant then you will object to the prices, but it is not, the quality of locally sourced ingredients, two excellent chefs and impeccable front of house service, offers in our view a truly memorable evening at a fair price, if you ignore my drinks bill!

A must for anybody that likes quality food.We searched online for quality restaurants, serving great food.We picked the Cotley Inn, because of the amazing 5 star reviews and were so glad that we did. A bit off the beaten track, but well worth the journey. We will definitely be calling back, when we visit the area again on holiday.

This is now my favourite place to eat near us. Competition is strong but from front if house to head chef you have to say, outstanding dining experience

We were here on a Saturday night for a meal.Good menu and good execution of one meal.Except the dish of the day "lemon sole" was poorly prepared with too many fish bones!I warned the waiting staff that they should remove that dish. They did, I think but there no senior staff came round to see how was.

Five stars not enough! Fantastic food, excellent service, great pub. We went for Sunday lunch; it's got a proper pub feel to it but really well laid out, very comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and service was second to none - haven't had any better in some of the best restaurants. The starters were absolutely divine - trout had such a fresh flavour, beautifully presented, very tasty. The roast mains were excellent - we had beef and lamb. Vegetables were very tasty. Everything had some sort of originality, making it a real dining experience without the pretence and in a very welcoming environment. A Colombard white with starter and Portuguese red with main both worked perfectly, the ales were excellent too. Compliments to the chef and all the staff, we will definitely be back!

Amazing food, probably one of the best original places I have ever eat out too. staff went out of their way to satisfy my needs. Desert tingled all the senses. definitely recommend.

A hidden gem, we visited on a wet and windy Sunday lunchtime. However as soon as we entered the greeting was so welcoming, as though we were regulars. The menu was inviting yet when the food arrived the food was more tasty than the description! Delicious. There were four of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and are looking forward to returning to sample other choices. Recommend visiting.

Excellent high quality food, better than many London establishments and amazing service in a lovely pub. Looks like it would be great to come in the summer to sit in quaint garden. A bit off the beaten track but we'll worth it even if we couldn't get a taxi! Looks like it's a popular with locals

Had a lovely lunch session here. Not eating but we were made very welcome. Excellent real Ales on gravity dispense. Very friendly staff and customers. Must come back to eat.

What a find the Cotley Inn was! Delicious food! Quick, efficient and friendly service. Definitely a hidden gem. If we lived nearby it would be very hard to resist.
