Eagle Tavern in South Somerset

I had my first visit here today with a good friend, and what a wonderful meal we had. All the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the service was just right - attentive and polite staff, with there being no sense of being hurried into our choices or pressured to finish and leave. I'd definitely recommend them very highly and will also make a point of returning at any opportunity!

Very accommodating - last minute telephone call on a bank holiday Sunday and they were able to fit us in without a booking. Wonderful friendly service and good food. Would recommend- child friendly and had vegetarian options.

Had a wonderful evening with family eating here, and celebrating a birthday. The food was utterly delicious, best Italian food we’ve ever had, presented well, tasted amazing, service was very good, great experience and would definitely be going here again. Highly recommend.

Really impressed with this great restaurant - a lot better than your average side-of-the-road stopover. Service was quick and friendly, food was fresh and delicious (with a huge choice and children’s menu), toilets were clean. Outdoor play area for kids - seriously great option if you’re passing by.

La Campagna Chard squeezed 23 of us in at the last minute for a family celebration.They were amazing with great service and delicious food.The waitress was very friendly and professional and smiled throughout the evening despite our demands for cocktails!Well done all, I can happily recommend for either a quiet meal or a gathering such as ours :)))

Really nicely decorated inside, staff were very friendly and accommodating.The food was really good although it was quite pricey.Would like to give this 5* however the food hygiene rating being only 3 out of 5 and the staff not wearing face masks prevents it.

I had the best calamari in this place! Better than served in Venice! The tiramisu was out of this world and the choice is very vast! From risotto to pasta dishes, pizza and desserts, the choice is huge and the quality is 5 stars across the menu. The service is great and the staff is most friendly and caring! Would come back any time and recommend to anyone! A family friendly environment, I Thank you for a wonderful Sunday meal! I felt like home Xxx

Warm and cosy atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. It really was a pleasant evening spent with my family.Oh and the food.... well.. I went with the lamb rump and it was melt in the mouth gorgeous, Wifey had the risotto and said it was dreamy, with the kids thoroughly enjoying their pizza too!Desserts were divine!! From the refreshing lemon sorbet to the indulgent chocolate fondant and fresh profiteroles.. it's fair to say we left stuffed, content and ready to return as soon as we can.Thanks again for a lovely evening!

I am Italian and would highly recommend!! There are few restaurants on the A303, most are greasy spoons or petrol stations, but this place has tasty Italian food as well as great service! Shame we don't live nearby as we'd be regulars. It is worthy of a 5 star review.

Great place to get some Italian food. We were staying in Chard and would definitely recommend the short trip to La Campagne. Scallops were tasty, pizza dough was crispy/light/fluffy, pasta had great flavour and well cooked, and tiramisu was super light and delicious. Very happy with all dishes. Full marks.
