Everything worst hotel ever used am elderly disabled throughout the night very loud banging and noise as trader worked in next room at 4am and 5.15 he was confronted but made even more deliberate noise because he had job to do! Hotel management were made aware but made no attempt to respond, just avoid like PLAGUE

It's a very budget hotel no longer providing breakfast. The photos online must be very old as they are definitely not representative of the current state of decoration. Very much in need of tlc and maintenance (broken fixtures and fittings). Building had a musty old smokey smell. Room on road side very noisy and cramped. Didn't feel comfortable or safe so didn't stay and booked somewhere else. Had sadly paid in advance via booking site and lost all money, hopefully it will be put towards maintenance and updating.

I love the authentic bar and features . The bar maid was very friendly and efficient . Unfortunately the floor was sticky , there was a musty smell in the air. 530 pm . Some tlc and investment would make this a top spot before a show at the octagon theatre 🎥

I stayed here a few years ago for a business trip (on a budget)The breakfast was fabulous, a solid reason to return.However, we (my wife and I) checked in today for an extended trip, while seeing the same client. (We thought we'd make a weekend of it)The place has changed hands and is in dire need of a lick of paint and good clean in more than a few places.To top it off, we were told that "the higher powers" had declared that they were to STOP SERVING BREAKFAST.(29th Jan 2022)Which is pure madness, breakfast is the singularly most important part of any overnight stay, especially when on a business trip.It is the very last event that any guest will remember.I / we won't be returning.Footnote -The current photos shown here (29th Jan 2022) aren't a true representation of the property.... If you get my drift.

I spent an evening celebrating a family birthday in this pub. When a family member queried the cost of a round of drinks later in the evening, he was treated with unnecessary aggression, and this was substantiated by other customers who witnessed his treatment. Safe to say we won’t be spending money in this pub again !

Stayed 6 days after coming out of hospital for 20 days while my house was cleared ..staff very friendly nothing to much trouble bed was great very comfortable shower was fantastic same for my breakfast in the morning highly recommended

This place was brilliant. I loved it, massive room, comfy bed, excellent tea and coffee making facilities, great location and the staff guy I met was funny. Zero faults

I have read some of the reviews andYes it is a budget hotel, rooms / bathrooms are clean and well stocked with coffee/ toiletries. I have stayed in various rooms and you can shut curtains.The staff are very friendly and go out of way to help you. It's a pub don't try and compare it to a 5 star hotel..It's warm friendly and inviting

A no frills hotel, but a warm welcome and clean room and bathroom. Lots of tea and coffee and a real treat of biscuits in the room! The toiletries were good quality. In a good location. You check in via the pub building and that has some amazing features.

This hotel is honestly the worst hotel I have stayed in . The staff when they are there are friendly and helpful. The only thing that put me off about them was at breakfast when the so called cook made food wearing a vest. Not a good sight. The food is terrible. The pub itself has wires hanging down all over the place, wet patches on the ceiling and loads of extension leads hanging by the TV. Carpet filthy and tables not cleaned when someone leaves. We were told the rooms will not be cleaned the whole time we stayed because of covid. Unbelievable as non of the staff had face masks on at anytime.. My single room was tiny bed against the wall so unable to close curtains carpet very very old decor terrible, window latch not working. The noise from other guests crazy in and out all night to smoke sitting on a bench right outside my window. Very steep eneven hill to walk down to get food. The pub can be very noisy at night with music and people shouting. For what I paid its very over priced and as I said menue terrible. Just one more thing not even a toiled brush in bathroom, not just my room 3 others neither had one. Taps on sink only run very very slow.
