I used to drink here about 15 years ago when I lived in the area. Pleased to report it hasn't changed a bit. The perfect pub.

I love going to the half way house. Always guaranteed great food, convivial atmosphere and an impressive selection of real ales and ciders straight from the barrel. My latest visit had the added bonus of a bit of live music.

Cracking little pub, a real pub.Friendly staff, good menu, brilliant selections of real ale and proper farmhouse ciders.Good sized beer garden.100% recommended

Great afternoon of New Orleans piano music played by Diz Watson with the solid double bass playing by Dave Hatfield and Adie on drums sitting in for the 93 year old Tony Uter who was unable to come from London.Great food, great beers, ciders and wines and wonderful punters dancing and enjoying themselves at this wonderful pub. I just love it.

My wife had the scampi and I had the venison burger with black pudding(the best burger I have ever had). Chips crispy on the outside, floury on the inside. We then shared a delicious chocolate brownie with ice cream. Superb food, friendly welcoming service next to a warm fire on a cold day.

This wonderful pub is in the Times top 20 pubs in the UK. I cannot speak for the other 19 (although perhaps I have inivertantly visited others) but this rates in my top 3 pubs; huge portions of excellent food, an open tap room, with beer wonderfully looked after, great staff and great punters. If you like a great atmosphere, great staff, great beer, great food and all around friendliness (let's be honest;who doesn't??) This is the spot. Bravo the boiler room, which is the staff!! Can't wait to go back.

·

Beautiful country pub with a nice list of beers. I did not have the chance to try the food as I only visited half an hour before closing time, but I will definitely return.

·

Amazing local pub with a great food and wide range of locally made drinks (Harry's Cider Rhubarb an absolute gem).Very helpful and accommodating owners ( found space to feed and welcome a large group of 12 people and 3 dogs on a short notice despite being really busy!).Everyone in the age diverse group ( 12 - 50) had something to do 🙂If in the area whole heartedly recommend stopping by 👍

First time visiting since we moved to the area. Great pub, warm welcome, dog friendly and lovely pub grub. Sitting by an open fire, on a winter's evening - can't get any better.
