Super lovely staff Clean and amazing food Values incredible

Brilliant hidden gem if you need a place to stay in the area. We would usually stay at a premier inn but that was too pricey for the dates we were after. Found the Halfway House on booking.com and it was half the price! The room was clean and had all the amenities you could possibly want in there! Lovely touch by adding botted water that you could put in the fridge in the room, also the great selection teas and coffees. The bed was really comfy and the room spacious and just what we required. Breakfast was also good and quick service. We had an evening meal in the pub which was delicious and great value for money. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area! Amazing value for money. A lot bigger than it looks from the road. Ensuite double room accessed from individual entrance outside, so no corridor with doors banging. Basic breakfast, but do you need more than cereal, toast, and a freshly cooked to order full English?

A very nice stay, clean room, comfy bed and full English breakfast, great value for money, also has a lovely lake at the back which was a bonus.

What a fabulous place.The owner is an absolutely lovely lady, she instantly made us feel welcome.We're looking forward to eating in the restaurant.

Clean bar. Well lit. Clean seating area and tables. Friendly welcoming staff. Very nicely prepared food. Good value for money. Will go again.

Used the moho stopover for the nite. Great location, but on the side of the A37. Phoned ahead as a matter of curtesy & arrival I could park anywhere around the lake. Good selection of ales & good pub food. But the lake & surroundings made the stay great.

We may have visited at a bad time as I've always heard good things about this establishment. Unfortunately they had a new chef on who was still clearly finding their feet...the food was a acceptable but nothing to write home about, it took about an hour to arrive and my meal arrived about 10 minutes after my partners. There was also another couple dining near us who weren't supplied tortillas with their meal as advertised and when asked was told they just couldn't find them. Having said this...its a lovely location with a lovely picturesque lake out the back which you are free to walk around and even dine next too should you wish (although you have to collect your food as its "too far to bring it to you"). Overall a mediocre experience which could be easily improved with some simple adjustments.

Bar opens at 4PM and restaurant 5.30pm both close by 9PM. Food was good pub grub, campsite small and basic. Good stop over or for a couple of nights wouldn't rate for a long stay. Pleasent beer garden with small lake. Dog friendly.
