Fab country pub with car parking at the front. Traditional style bar and restaurant with a gorgeous covered terrace area (with heaters for our temperamental English weather). We had one Sunday roast and one burger, both were exceptional; quality ingredients, cooked beautifully & served with care. The staff were all Uber polite & friendly... A very lucky find at 4pm on Father's Day!

This pub has sky rocketed in it's food, service and general ambience! I visited this pub years and years ago and never went back as other pubs were in close proximity that I would choose over this one. Now however I won't hesitate to make this one the pub of choice! The food was phenomenal and the staff/service was second to none. Super friendly and all to happy to help! We were there late one evening and didn't notice the time fly by until we finally left to the whole staff waving us off! I can't wait to go back and try something else off their menu! There wasn't the greatest choice of vegetarian options (due to shortages) but what they did have was incredible!I would highly recommend this place for a bite to eat and some great welcoming company!See you soon!

Lovely pub with various areas to sit in . The outside is lovely but a bit warm under the plastic roof, the views to the hills are ample compensation. We went for the restaurant area where the seats are more comfortable and you can still just about get the views!Food was well prepared and presented. Service although slow at times was friendly and polite. The food tasted very good and was a good portion. The koffmann fries were very good. Overall pricing gives you a high degree of expectation, which they haven't quite achieved yet.

Would give this zero stars if I could, but one will have to do. Had a booking for 7pm, once we were sat down we were ignored for about 45 minutes until my husband asked if we could order our food. When the girl came over to take our order she said with her bad attitude, "we are trying to keep to the times of the bookings" and said that our booking was for a quarter to. The booking was not for a quarter to, it was for 7. I have the email to prove it. Don't appreciate the staff treating us badly for their mistake. We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food. We were ten minutes from walking out. Not sure why everyone working there is so miserable. The food wasn't great, but wasn't terrible either. Could have used a bit more seasoning. Not really worth the money when we could have gone elsewhere and got better food and better service.

We had the most delicious roast dinner here yesterday and even pushed the boat out and had a dessert. Compliments to the chef!! We were camping locally for the New Year break and The Lime Kiln was on our cycle route. Definitely recommend and a special thank you to Dan for looking after us so well. Look forward to returning again.

Lovely, "real" pub! Hats off to the chef, the food was truly scrumptious. Thank you to all other staff for your service and attentiveness. A large (14) family Christmas get together. Well worth the drive down from Surrey. Happy Christmas!

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Place was very clean and staff attentive. Good food and drinks as well. Burger / pie and gammon and all eaten. Staff were very good - would happily go back

As Vegans, my partner and I are often disappointed whilst eating out.The Lime Kiln inn was a total contrast, nothing was to much trouble, very comfortable seating area, friendly staff and the Vegan meals we both had were exemplary. All our food was delicious and a flavour explosion with each mouthful. The attention to detail was exquisite and all our dishes were art on a plate.I cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be returning

A 17th-century former cider house, now converted into a very acceptable traditional pub/restaurantPart of the Butcombe brewery chain and on the Cask MarqueAleTrail. The number of ales available may vary from one to three. The main bar area has a flag stoned floor with a large inglenook fireplace which they light with logs in the winter. There is an adjoining recently refurbished restaurant, with large opening doors that lead onto the garden for summer use. The restaurant is a more modern addition to this 200 year old pub (first licence granted 1814). The food is excellent, prepared on the premises and rarely has cause for complaint. There's a changing specials board in addition to the main menu.My visit this day was to record the event by scanning their Cask Marque Accreditation Certificate and to entertain two long-standing friends, who were themselves publicans. Having been successfully in the business themselves, they had and still have, very exacting standards - she as a chef and he as a cellarman. I am pleased to say, neither of them could find fault with the service (prompt and affable, very customer focused) the provender (all our meals were delectable) and the beer (Butcomb's Rare Breed 3.4% in noble condition) and were more than pleased with my choice of venue.A very enjoyable lunch and not the last time we will have one there.
