Lopen Raj in South Somerset

Beware of the menu- I ordered biryani because it was indicated as gluten free- it came with a pastry top! Manager said this was how they made them and I should have said! I have never had a biryani with a pastry top- how are customers supposed to know this is how they’re made in this restaurant and why isn’t the menu clearer?!The meal wasn’t good, manager agreed to take a percentage off the bill.It’s advertised as 20% off with blue light card- they took 10% off.Most of the rest of the group were happy with their food.

i ordered online and was told i would get my food at 8.30. it arrived at 9.00 and i had nobody contact me to let me know it would be late. the food also arrived cold. other than that, the food was nice but i was just disappointed at the service and food temperature.

Delicious food. Indian dishes were flavoursome and the chicken burger was good. Great to have somewhere that offers Indian, burgers and steaks under one roof.

1st time to the Lopen Raj but we had heard good things and we weren't disappointed.I was a bit dubious at first as they do more than just Indian cuisine they do Thai and Steaks/burgers from the grill and I normally find it best if restaurants stick to one thing but they did everything very well and we had a good mix of food to the table. Service was good and we weren't rushed. My jalfrezi was excellent and naan bread cooked perfectly prices were good as well I had poppadoms, jalfrezi, rice, naan and 5 kingfisher and my partner had a bottle of wine, poppadoms, chicken shashlik, aubergine bhaji and a chapati whole lot £75!! Taxi home nearly cost the same lol 😂 I would definitely suggest giving the Lopen Raj a go if you are in the area we are already looking to go again.

I have only given 1 to be able to comment, not only did the food Turn up 45 minutes late it was stone cold tasteless and to be honest awful, we called to find out the problem and were net with someone asking to be told what to do we had to wait a further 40 minutes for the completion of the order and a partial refund. WE ARE A VUNERABLE HOUSEHOLD AND TAKEAWAYS ARE A TREAT safe to say NEVER again will we use lopen Raj disgusting!!!

Went for a birthday meal. Had King Prawn Bhoona. Husband had King Prawn Jalfrezi. Served with Garlic Naan Bread. Had poppadoms served with 2 dips each. Drinks were 2 pint of lemonade. Overall bill price was reasonable.

Best Indian restaurant in the area by a long way, every meal we had, either take away or eat in has been excellent.On this particular occasion, everything was perfectly cooked, well spiced and not watery like some places.Do not hesitate to visit this place if in the area!!!

Ordered a home delivery. When it arrived it was nothing like what we expected. One dish was liquid only. The chilli prawn dish was a mass of over cooked ingredients. With an over concentrated sauce. I honestly wouldn't have given the food away. First order and very much the last. AVOID

Met some friends here. There was a quite wait for the food..Delivered our food to the wrong table then brought it to us. Everyone one had there's but my curry was missing. Had to wait again. It was ashame because the food tasted fantastic. We had all driven from Yeovil on our friends recommendation. Service was poor. The waiter we had didn't know what the dishes were neither. Not the best experience.
