Market Bar and Bistro in South Somerset

Pleasant staff, excellent food, and a good selection of beverages. i would recommend this place to anyone.

I visited the bar on Saturday 26th July. First impressions was it was an OK place, however shortly after for no given reason I was asked to leave. I was assaulted by the bar maid and the owner and his wife were extremely rude when I asked politely why I was being told to leave. At which point I was told I was now barred, again no reason was given. In summary, this is a place to avoid, the staff are rude and grumpy.

Lovely old building, the internal decor looks good (except the white wall painting looks a bit amateurish), very good table layout, spacious and clean.Sunday mid-day meal:-Good quality food but lacking on the quantity, meat and vegetables supplied need to be increased by at least 50%Service good, but the young waitress could have been a bit more friendly.Overall between 3 & 4 stars.

Small, clean and fairly comfortable but pretentious and with a menu that is pedestrian and very overpriced. If you are looking for a decent drink and bite to eat, be advised to try one of the many pubs in the town.
